Phoenix Cinema

The phoenix cinema is an art house style cinema which has been brought to life by volunteers. It has a raked auditorium and is decorated in reds and golds. As you enter the ticket desk and refreshments are opposite you but it also has a cafe up the stairs which has an extensive menu and bar. A lovely place to visit. The cinema shows live performances from the Met Opera in new York, the bolshoi ballet in Moscow, the Royal Opera House, the Royal Shakespeare Company. Films are around £7+ and live screenings from £15 to £28. Recommended for a traditional cinema atmosphere and great facilities.

Beautiful venue that maintains dome of its early features. Very helpful and polite staff. Recommended for an event or to catch the latest films

Lovely art deco cinema. Small cafe upstairs good for meeting friends for a quick hot drink before the film if you can snag a table or you can bring in to the film. Staff friendly. Check seating plan before deciding as rows not evenly inclined. Parking nearby sometimes tricky, depending on time but has East Finchley tube station across the road and nearby bus stop.

I spent an enjoyable morning at the ‘BUB club’ (Bringing Up Baby/baby cinema) last week. For £8 you get a ticket to a film and a filter coffee, I was in need of a stronger caffeine hit so opted for a £3 coffee from the independent cafe on the first floor. The cinema itself was large and my seat was comfortable and there was ample space to park my pram. There is a old/slow small boxy lift to take you and a pram up to the first floor to enter the cinema and there is one disabled loo with baby change facilities on the GF so you can end up running up/down the stairs a few too many times. Overall really enjoyed my morning.
