Our experience with Kia Canterbury was very positive. We booked our Optima in for a service, and had an 'all day' appointment. The car was dropped off in the morning, and I opted to work from the showroom for a bit. The wifi was not very good averaged under 1Mbps down, but I used my mobile hotspot, and the showroom provided a nice pleasant environment to work in. The car was ready just a couple of hours later, but during this time i'd had a cup of coffee from the machine, and a couple of glasses of water. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive, and efficiently dealt with my car. The newly built showroom was clean, bright and well presented with a range of lovely cars ready to tempt me into my next purchase... I had asked about looking at the EV9, but the only model they had in a demonstrator was out on a test drive. We purchased our Kia from a dealer in another area and had excellent service, i'm pleased that our local dealer lived up to the same super standards!
Diabolical Service Department. It has taken years to get the car fixed under warranty - nothing major. We were told there was nothing wrong for the first year. We were told it was fixed when collecting the car from services for the next few years - it wasn't. A few months ago, about 5 years after they first ‘looked at it’ they actually looked at it properly and and booked in for repair. When taken in they couldn’t fix as they didn’t have the part! We then waited 3 months for the part to come in. It was taken down to be fixed today, and left to pick up tomorrow. This afternoon I receive a call to say they need another part which is expected in tomorrow. Seriously?! No courtesy car, no proper apology. Delays in parts arriving is understandable but years of total incompetence, lies and deceit is not. Fortunately, the reliability of the car has been outstanding. Kia cars are great. Their aftercare and service is disgusting. Update 30/4/24: Just got a call. ‘Part didn’t arrive.’ Why am I not surprised! What a sham! There’s no courtesy car! This was booked in weeks ago following the part arriving, they only needed a few hours but we decided to leave it until the next day. Any reputable business would have put this right and compensated a long time ago. Would have expected a courtesy car delivered by now. Nice swanky new showroom. Would have been better spending the money honouring service packs and on customer aftercare.
Brilliant service & Great Cars... Swapped our Xceed for a Sportage GT S-Line.. The personal service was second to none both Alex & David were excellent & made it a very simple process. Viewed the Car on Friday & drove the Sportage home on Saturday... Love it... Highly Recommended

Carl Wright was so helpful and knowledgeable. He spent a considerable time answering all our detailed questions and taking us on an very informative test drive. He was not pushy at all and extremely patient with us both. He is a great asset to Canterbury Kia.
This dealership seems to have great reviews, but we’ve only used it for servicing our KIA, and have not had the best experience. The availability is horrendous - for terminal faults on warranty vehicles, you wait 4-6 weeks, the same as service appointments. The staff are generally nice, but not great with basic things. As an example, we booked in for fault finding with a four week wait. When we arrived, they said we needed our service as well, and that we would need to book it separately in another four weeks. Why hadn’t they said as much when we booked in for fault finding? They also never have service vehicles. Ever. Between the long waits and the unusual reality that they can’t provide some basic services like washing or vacuuming your car, you’re better off going to Ashford Orbital KIA.
I had issues with the salesman whilst I wanted to buy a Sportage GTS. He basically showed zero interest and took weeks to find answers to a question about getting different alloys. Then I asked for a few days to think and never heard from him. Ended up buying from a different dealership who were much more efficient. I got the car, and the sunroof trim fell off after 4 weeks. Popped in to Canterbury as my local dealer, and because I didn't buy from them, were not interested in helping me. They then told me it wouldn't be covered under warranty and would charge me. The part literally fell off.. I spoke to Ashford who were more than happy to help, and they confirmed two clips were missing, so it was a fault with the car, not me. Steer clear, as they will only help if you purchase from them, which ironically they have no interest in helping you with either.
We bought our Kia Sportage from Canterbury Kia at Broadoak. Our sales person, Tom Hibbbert was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, professional and genuinely passionate about the brand. His non pushy manner was very much appreciated and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kia and Tom to friends and family.
We've had a Kia since 2016 and had it serviced here ever since we bought it, and they've been brilliant! Staff are really friendly, services are done quickly and thoroughly with plenty of feedback and contact during the process. Getting a courtesy car is low cost and easy, so long as you book in advance. The new showroom is very swish, but still has the same friendly staff and great customer service!
I booked my service 6 weeks ago to fit in with my busy work schedule. Had a phone call the day before to confirm my booking. Arrived at 8am handed in my keys and waited and waited I was told at the time of booking it could take until 1pm. No one updated me on my cars progress. I asked at 12.25 how long it would be . Only to be told my car had not been seen in the workshop due to human error as my paperwork had been put on the wrong pile !! What kind of service is this ? I then got given a courtesy car after some negotiations to be told I would need to pay for the petrol I used and insurance. I needed to get to an important meeting. In the end I paid nothing but had to find time to go back and collect my car . My car is a lease car so thank god I didn’t pay for this appalling service. My next car will not be a Kia. Totally incompetent!!
