I had a less than satisfactory experience during my recent visit. I was unaware that the brake fluid and air conditioning filters were not included in the price of the minor service, which seemed to cause some frustration for the staff member, evident in her demeanor. Additionally, there appeared to be a misunderstanding regarding the function of brake fluid, which further contributed to her irritation. My daughters, ages 11 and 7, also noticed the situation; my younger daughter remarked on the staff member's unkindness, while my older daughter commented that she seemed to be masking her displeasure with a forced smile. I have been a loyal customer since purchasing our car from this dealership in 2016 and have always had positive experiences with customer service. I hope this was an isolated incident and plan to return in the future. However, I will be cautious and will try to avoid that particular staff member if she is still with the dealership.
Very impressed by the team at VW Canterbury. After being let down by a different VW dealership last minute, I was on a tight deadline to replace my car, and the spec I was looking for was available in Canterbury. Connor was extremely helpful and proactive in getting the car and paperwork ready in time, and I'm very grateful for all his hard work. An all round positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend purchasing your car from here.
I had a great experience there today: having an issue with my Passat, I spontaneously stopped there to ask for assistance. I was helped in the fastest and most friendly way imaginable. Being a non-UK located Tourist, it was clear that I wouldn't be the most frequent customer - and was treated Like this nonethless. That demonstrates true customer orientation. A big Thanks!
The sales team were somewhat accommodating when we were initially enquiring about SUVs, allowing us to look inside the new cars inside the showroom but with little help or guidance. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as they were clearly busy with other customers but the follow up appointment was also disappointing. Having contacted them by email with what we were looking for and booked an appointment in advance, the sales assistant, while lovely, didn't seem to particularly remember our enquiry and only gave us the opportunity to look at and test drive one car before advising us to go away and have a think if we wanted that make, model and spec, and to contact him again if we wanted to move forward. Having emailed the following day, I am yet to receive a response over 10-days later and we have decided to go elsewhere. Really disappointing as we have always loved VW cars, and have been driving them for the last 15 year or more, but the quality of the service has made us make a change, particularly with the sort of money we would have been paying for a nearly new car.
If your wanting to buy a car and want to deal with a dealership who puts a dampener on everything, makes buying a car stressful and wastes your time then this is the dealership for you. After narrowing down my search to 3-5 cars this dealership had the Golf I wanted. I enquired through the Volkswagen website for a walk around video and soon enough I had a good but low quality video from one of the sales men. Contacted the dealership the next morning by phone to progress the sale to be told the salesman is not at his desk and she’ll get him to call me back. Approaching 5 o’clock still no call back so sends the salesman an email to then be contacted shortly after by a different salesman who informed me the first salesman is on annual leave and the receptionist didn’t know?? Anyway new salesman let’s try and do a deal. Has a chat about the car and tells me he’ll contact me between 9 and 11. About half 12 he rings me and starts going through figures. I inform him that I’m not happy with the crazy interest rate that Volkswagen finance are offering and asked to match another dealerships 9.9% apr to which I’m told the interest rate is specific to each car which tbh is a load of nonsense. I checked a specific Volkswagen dealerships website who are offering 9.9% apr and ALL of their cars are offered at 9.9% apr so this thing of it’s set by Volkswagen finance on specific cars in my opinion is a lie. The two salesmen opinions on the car are inconsistent as the one of the video is saying the car is immaculate with no damage and then the other salesman is saying the bumper wants a touch up and one wheel wants a refurb. So after not accepting to go ahead with Volkswagen finance I am then encouraged to get a lower rate elsewhere and come back once I have an acceptance to finalise on the deal. So I then spend a couple of hours searching for a low rate PCP deal to which I find a highly recommended car finance broker who are able to give me a low rate pcp deal. I apply with the application and get accepted at the rate I want all I have to do is liaise with the dealer and the finance company will pay the dealer direct and I can have the Golf I want. Chuffed to bits because I’m going to be able to get this golf at the monthly payments I want I send the email to the salesman to inform him of the acceptance to which he calls me straight away. After explaining everything he then tells me they’re NOT willing to accept a third party finance company because of FCA, money laundering and some other nonsense. I then offer to ask the broker to contact them direct to go over everything incase I was mistaken and the salesman just said no there’s no point because he knows his sales manager won’t accept it. So after all that, now having a hard check on my credit profile for the next 6 months because the salesman literally wasted my time I walked away from this dealership. I’ve never dealt with a car dealership in all my life who’s tried to put a dampener and blockages on a car deal at nearly every angle. What a stressful dealing. If this is the car buying process with them I dread to think what the after sales is like.
Had a very good experience here with my vw, fast friendly service with a nice hot drink thrown in, had to have a courtesy car which was very clean throughout and my car was ready to collect the same day. My car is used for a business so it was great to get it back so quickly after the repairs were completed
Scott helped fix my wing mirror on my Golf. He was very polite, professional and extremely helpful. I took my car in for the staff to look at, thinking a repair wouldn’t be possible there and then . But Scott managed to do it all on the same day for me. I didn’t even have to wait for long less than 30mins I’ll be forever grateful! Thank you Scott
I recently bought my first car from here and whilst it is too soon to pass full judgement on the car, Liam was a fantastic help throughout the buying process, offering great communication and being super polite throughout.
Had MOT done here today and was dealt with by Brooke & Leah. Both lovely girls and really helpful. Car initially failed MOT but problem was sorted and my car was ready to collect by 1pm! Also had a loan car which was clean and nice to drive and helpful so I could still get to work and do school run etc. thank you all at Canterbury Volkswagen!
Leah tried to get my elderly mother to buy tyres when the existing had several mm of tread left, claiming they were illegal. In reality it was listed as an advisory in an mot weeks before. She said she didn't have a spare tyre when she does. I'm not even surprised anymore, it seems for some years the delarships are adopting kwik fit style sales tactics.
