Northcote is a luxury country house hotel with a Michelin star restaurant in the heart of the Ribble Valley in Lancashire.

Story

Managing Director Craig Bancroft together with Executive Head Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen and the team are dedicated to their vision of ensuring the perfect experience at Northcote - a renowned small luxury hotel with a Michelin star restaurant situated on the edge of the Ribble Valley, in the heart of Lancashire.

The hotel, a member of the exclusive Relais & Chateaux and Pride of Britain Hotels, offers 26 individually styled luxurious bedrooms. Northcote's restaurant is renowned for its fine cuisine and serves traditional Lancashire recipes with a modern twist, created from local produce. To add to the experience, the Chef’s Table, in the kitchen, offers insights into how the kitchen really operates, and the Cookery School provides a unique and intimate experience where you can learn new skills and dishes in a Michelin star kitchen.

Myself and my husband visited Northcote to have their seasonal Xmas lunch. The experience was wonderful from start to finish. The service was impeccable, food absolutely divine and the ambience equally exceptional. We will most definitely visit again.nThank you Northcote for a truely memorable day.
My friend and I have just returned from celebrating a special birthday at Northcote. It was a terrific experience from the moment we arrived when we were greeted on the terrace by the friendly team. We lunched on the terrace with a light snack and the best chips we have ever had. Our room was delightful with every attention to detail paid in sophisticated style. Comfortable beds and lovely linens. Lots of appreciated touches to create a comfortable stay. The five course gourmet dinner with a new summer menu created very recently was sublime. From the 'snacks' to dessert, every course grew in intensity, ingenuity and flavour. It was truly wonderful. Among the special touches for my friends birthday, a card and a glass of complimentary champagne. It is these gestures that add that extra delight to an altogether memorable occasion. Finally the jewel in the crown, the team who work so hard with ever present hospitality that are a credit and the epitome of Northcote. Return visit definitely on the cards.
A wonderful experience. Everything we hoped it would be for a special occasion. Service was outstanding in every respect - from the moment we arrived, friendly, proficient and professional from start to finish.nThe food proved 100% worthy of the MIchelin Star.nThe lounge and dining room were superbly and refreshingly appointed.
We recently returned from the Northcote having celebrated my wife's birthday. I chose the Northcote because of Lisa Goodwin Allen’s reputation and was not disappointed. The food was exceptional as was the service; the staff were uniformly polite, enthusiastic and thoroughly professional, which made our stay that much more enjoyable. We have experienced fine dining restaurants where the quality of food has been overshadowed by the theatricality of the presentation and service, this wan’t the case at the Northcote; the creativity and ingenuity of the various dishes was enhanced by precision and skill of the chefs in the kitchen which ensured that the ingredients that comprised the dishes were centre stage. We would like to thank Lisa and her colleagues for ensuring my wife had a wonderful birthday.
