Inbetween permanent management needs some work and effort to get it back on track. Would suggest better places close by.

The Bayley Arms hotel has cancelled our reservation booking for next year, out of the blue, with no reason given. We have paid everything upfront so are now quite worried. Please could you confirm your intention particularly in respect of our deposit. Many thanks

Nice looking place, well presented and Dog friendly, always a bonus. Staff were pleasant. We arrived after a long walk on the Tolkien Trail ready for some traditional pub grub. After ordering a £3 pint of soda with some Pepsi mix (it was definitely on the weak side) we sat with the menus. Expensive options with a 1/2/3 course menu for Sunday, one course was £11.95, all three £19.95, which is far too expensive for a pub. The rest of the menu was full of similarly priced, predominantly Italian seeming nouveau cuisine and the only light option wasn't served on Sundays; we left hungry. I went back to the bar to settle the tab but there was nobody serving. After a couple of minutes I gave up. As we left I tried again; turns out the pint of cider was £3.30, actually quite reasonable. A huge disappointment despite it being a lovely looking place.
