The farm itself was lovely and the setting couldn't have been better. The welcome from Margaret and John was very warm and inviting and there were some really thoughtful touches in the room, such as a huge stack of useful local magazines and a chilled jug of milk in a little fridge (it was really sweet, much nicer than a plastic bottle). We chatted to Margaret over breakfast (which was exceptionally good, especially the home made potato cakes), while we watched the chickens go about their day and we thanked them for our morning eggs! Margaret was the perfect host and told us about the local area and the history of the farm. And nothing was too much trouble, she even makes fantastic home made marmalade. I would recommend Cobden Farm to anyone who is bored of staying in faceless corporate hotels. It is quite literally a breath of fresh air. I can't wait for an excuse to visit again.

We loved staying with you - so kind and hospitable after a long, gruelling journey way out of our comfort zone. Breakfast was delicious. I loved your wee garden too and the swallows and peace and quiet and gorgeous views. We both want to return one day and explore further. Vici
