Took my Mum out for afternoon tea and we had an amazing experience. Really reasonably priced and the vegan option was really impressive and well considered. Loved the sweet treats! We then had cocktails on the terrace in the Sunshine to finish up Service: 5/5
Mitton Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding. The building and surrounding grounds are absolutely stunning. The wedding team were amazing and responded to our queries quickly and professionally. The day itself was magical. Josh, our wedding coordinator on the day, was exceptional. He was kind, friendly, attentive and helped to keep everyone calm and on track throughout the day, he definitely made the day run as smoothly as possible. Thank you Mitton for the best day.
We went for a show around for having it as a wedding venue, so I can't comment on the rooms. It's a quiet, countryside location with lovely grounds and cosy seating areas in the foyer and bar areas. The room for wedding ceremonies or receptions is a good size with a selection of tables and chairs and sofas, as well as a terrace area for the warmer months. Eleanor was very helpful with tailoring the package for the different options we may go for and had a calendar of available dates to see which times of year still had availability. So all in all it was a good experience and a contender for our venue.
Gorgeous location for a very happy family wedding. Very attentive staff. Delicious food. Well priced drinks with a wide range of options. We weren't staying but those that did enjoyed their rooms.Rooms: 5/5
Went for afternoon tea. We'd opted for the champagne afternoon tea at £37.50 a head. A few elements missing from our selection, no jams with the sausage roll or goats cheese, cheese cake, the later definitely needed something to give it a lift. Sandwiches, we're very tasty but some of the bread was a little dry at the edges. In addition, service was slightly patchy. Given the price, I would have expected slightly better. That said, the cakes were all very delicious, and the glass of champagne each champagne went down well!
We stayed at this lovely hotel after a wedding so we pushed the boat out a bit with regard to the room. WE had a suite and it was the most beautiful room I have stayed in for years. Four poster bed with lovely views. The staff were absolutely wonderful and they all went the extra mile with the service. If you want a relaxing weekend away give it a try..
Five of us had lunch today which was booked. There was a big wedding that we were not told about. Not enough staff, the place was overrun with guests, couldn't hear to talk. Food was slow to arrive and not that good. Couldn't get a drink without queuing at a bar with one member of staff trying to serve a multitude of wedding guests. The toilets were disgusting, see photo. Why the venue did not say they couldn't do lunches that day is beyond me. Greed I suppose. Anyway we will not return.
Attended a beautiful wedding here a few weeks ago. Setting was lovely, building and interior stunning. We sat out on the terrace for drinks in the lovely sunshine overlooking a river.Service: 5/5
So disappointed and actually insulted! Me and my father have been coming here for years, we like to get a latte and sit by the fire and chat. The staff are usually always polite, on hand and excellent at service. Tonight we came in at 21:50 and waited 10 minutes before anyone even served us. We were greeted I think by a young Indian man apologies if he is not Indian, upon greeting us it was clear he couldn’t be arsed. He didn’t say hello, didn’t smile just looked at us and said ‘what do you want’. We said can we have two coffees please and he just walked off? He came back a few moments later, we asked for 1 cappuccino and 1 decaf caramel latter which we always get. He looked at us, sighed, and said ‘listen Im not lying I dunno how to make that. Do you want a coffee or’…I said I can’t have normal coffee I want decaf please? He told me no!!! So I was quite annoyed at his manner so I just said I’ll just have a water please. My dad just agreed for a normal coffee. He then looked at the coffee machine, pretend to press a button and went ‘oh yanno what it’s been cleaned sorry. Do you want anything else’ ??!! It was only 22:00! Service didn’t end until 23:00! Absolutely furious and disgusted, what’s worse is we sat down with our rushed pity glasses of waters and there was two customers with lattes!!!!! Disgusting service
We stayed over for a family wedding and it can't be faulted for that we had a great time. . However this is a review for our stay and the hotel, room was ok clean and tidy and all good only downside was it was far too hot and the shower tap was broken. . The hotel was nice and rustic, the bar was good and prices weren't extortionate. The day staff were amazing and bent over backwards for you. The only downside to the place as a whole as the heat!!!!!! Honestly it was a mild day and they have more radiators than you can count on full blast and the fire roaring away. After two nights I felt sick from being so warm. . Dinner was nice, we ate on the main menu with tapas the food was nice and tasty but due to such a small menu most of our party couldn't get first choice as they ran out. . Breakfast was left to be desired for, I had the full English which was a bit dry as though it had been mass made and sat under a heat lamp for hours my family had some eggs benedict and others but again due to a small menu a fair few items were out of stock. The cerell and fruit are just little boxes nothing "continental" about it. Breakfast make you think "Is this really value for money?" Rooms: We had one of the bigger rooms, it was lovely and apart from a broken shower tap and being too warm we couldn't fault it. Bed was really comfy and we had two good night sleeps. Food & drinks: Breakfast was as above not the best and was very dry. . Drinks were nice and weren't extortionate as I was expecting. . Dinner was tasty except the small menu meant not all got their first choice. Noteworthy details: Too hot, we went on a mild February and it made me feel sick how hot it was.
