The Avenue was a Lovely Hotel with both Friendly and Helpful Staff. Stayed there overnight to attend a Wedding Nearby. Lovely Place in Lovely Surroundings. Cooked Breakfast was Delicious too. Will Definitely stay there again at some point to have a Sunday Lunch there. Amanda Egan
Attended a party here twice and stayed in the hotel both times. Downstairs the venue is really modern, nice bar area, outdoor space and function room. The atrium is nicely lit and spacious, but the rooms let the hotel down, they’re very dated! Except the vip suite which seems to be the only room they decided to modernise which is a shame considering you’re paying £100+ just for the room. The room we stayed in was tidy, however it seemed as though housekeeping forgot our duvet, and when we realised it was gone midnight, thankfully it wasnt a cold night. Breakfast was good, although average and nothing special considering its an extra £10pp if you want full english. I have to give special mention to Dave who arranged both parties for us and has accomodated every wish. The staff were polite on the bars. However, when you spend £1000s to have a party in the function room, its very very annoying for the village locals to think they’re entitled to sneak into the function room and steal food from the buffet, this has happened on both party occasions and members of the party have had to ward off the pigeons so to speak, only for them to walk back to their group having a laugh about it, i guess money doesnt offer respect for others and their property. Its a huge let down. It would be wise to block off access to locals using the bar area from the function rooms to stop this from happening, its disrespectful to the party client when they’ve paid ridiculous amounts of money for food to be stolen and nothing been done about it. This wont be the first time they’ve done this and it wont be the last and something needs to be done to stop it. Apart from the above, the venue does as intended, nice location, the venue has its own DJ and has contacts if party organisers are struggling for suppliers. Food & drinks: Reasonably priced food and drinks
I attended a wedding close by at Milton Hall, the hotel is a winner of "2 in a bed" and my wife and I could see why. It met all of my wants and needs, a very positive experience, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel that delivers what it says it will. The room was exactly what I expected it to be. The bed was very comfortable and the on-suite was very clean and that strange as it may seem, it gave me the confidence to use the facilities freely. Highly recommended to everyone, the cost of staying was £90.72p very happy visit throughout. Food & drinks: A very nice menu of locally sourced produce, wine, and beer selection is to be had.
As a family we had just been given the date of our neice's wedding at the nearby Hobbit Hill, so we then had to look for accommodation. We were travelling down from the northeast of England. This venue was the first to come up, checked out the photos and the reviews and because they were so good, we booked up, my husband and I and his sister. We were not disappointed, received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival. We were early but fortunately our rooms were ready. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Due to us booking midweek, included in the price was a continental breakfast each morning, cooked breakfasts were served on weekends. However, there was plenty of choice and it was ample. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Bar prices were reasonable. The hotel is approximately 3 mile away from the town of Clitheroe, we drove there so not sure if its accessible by public transport. Lovely town to visit. Friendly people. I would not hesitate in booking again if I was in the area, highly recommend
We had the fortunate experience of booking this venue for our nieces wedding 29/09/2023. And what can we say it was one of the most enjoyable venues we’ve been too. Staff were lovely and very obliging . Full English breakfast was lovely and made it more special because it was cooked individually to order. The chef was most professional and works really hard. We have both said if we are ever up that part of the country again we will definitely be booking again.
Had a great stay overall, checked in promptly and were shown our room which was a nice touch! Our room was nice, only complaint was there were cobwebs in the corner of the room, we were sharing the room with two huge spiders!! But overall we had a pleasant stay, staff were really friendly and everyone seemed super cheery.Rooms: 2/5
My family and I have just spent 3 weeks at The Avenue Hotel, I cannot praise it highly enough. Dave and Howard went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and they made us feel extremely welcome. The location was perfect for us, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the food at the hotel is 10/10, plus all the staff are super friendly. We would definitely choose to stay here on our next visit to the UK.
We arrived on a Sunday evening to beautifully presented rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. We ate dinner that evening, and, while we were waiting for a while, the food surpassed our expectations in both quantity and quality. Overall, a lovely stay and would be eager to return in the future.Rooms: 5/5
So I stayed at The Avenue Hotel for a couple of weeks while my son was on tryouts at the Blackburn Rovers Football Club and I must say that my experience was really special. From Dave the manager at the from desk to Harold one of the owners to the very nice young lady who runs the restaurant and Emma and Poppy who did a great job making sure my room was always clean and ready for me when I get back on evenings. Thank you all so much for your wonderful hospitality and to Dave for going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Looking forward to coming back to your neck of the woods in the future. Hopefully I will run into Usain Bolt again having dinner at your restaurant.
The staff here were so attentive, we arrived early before check in because we had to go to a wedding, and they gave us our keys and took our bags to our room for us, the man on the desk was really helpful advising about the best way to get into Clitheroe and about taxi's Then after the wedding When we got to our room, we were really pleased, for a budget hotel, the rooms were really big! Nice big bed, big bathroom, nice view over Blackburn rovers training ground, no complaints
