From the outside, it impresses with its architecture and grandeur. The well-maintained green grounds feature lakes and centuries-old trees. The rooms are outdated, but everything inside is of high quality—especially the soft, delicate bed linen and the luxurious toiletries in the bathroom.nnA charming touch is the bottle of cream in the fridge for coffee or tea. However, the towel warmer in the bathroom is positioned right above the toilet, so if you're drying swimsuits or anything else, it's best to keep the lid down. Speaking of which, you’ll also need to lower the lid to reach the flush button.nnAnother thing to note—the sink faucet is installed at an angle, so water flows straight onto the floor. Be sure to turn it off tightly, or by the end of the day, you might find a little puddle forming.nnI wouldn’t recommend the spa. The pool is small and sometimes used for local fitness classes, so it’s best to check the schedule beforehand. The changing rooms aren’t very clean, and the water in the pool and jacuzzi is heavily chlorinated. The steam sauna is also extremely hot.nnThe restaurant wasn’t impressive, but the bar is lovely, with a decent selection of drinks. The staff tries their best, but they often mix things up or forget requests.nnThere's private parking. I’m not sure if I’d stay here again, but I would definitely return for a stroll and a drink with that incredible view.
Absolutely loved this place!!!nWe went a few months ago and we’ll be going again.nnIt has beautiful grounds, with lots of water/ponds, they have wellies to borrow so we got some on and went for a walk, we saw so many different birds… I even saw my first kingfisher.. they had a pair parakeets flying around the grounds too!!nThe room was lovely, big clean quiet and comfortable.nThe hotel and its staff were on point.nWe tried the spa which is bog standard, wasn’t the worst I’ve been to wasn’t the best either, it was good. Nice size pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.nnI would highly recommend this hotel it is delightful! One of the best we’ve stayed in we frequently stay in hotels across uk
Went with my family for a dinner in restaurant. Before we had 1 hour to kill so we sat in one of the room next to fire place and Christmas tree with lovely drink. Stuff was welcomed from the start but the biggest star was Jack - head chef and Pedro - lovely waitress… Chef Jack was so impressive sending us little dishes like small sorbet or scallops between our original meal.. Waitress Pedro was so polite, made us very welcome and had fantastic chat with him making us homely… Very professional stuff, food was amazing from presentation, taste… I used to work on restaurant for 7 years before and I like to think I am not easily impressed but we give 5 STAR especially to chef JACK and waitress PEDRO. Thank you so much for making our stay beautiful and peaceful. Very impressed
Booked a stay just for myself and loved every minute of it. I didn't want to leave. Extremely comfortable bed and lovely, attentive staff without them being intrusive. The building is beautiful, inside and out.
Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff throughout the hotel and Spa.nThe spa therapists Kia/Porsha and Stephanie provided excellent treatments, thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable. Just what we wanted from our Spa break.nWould highly recommend and will definitely revisit.
