Room is very basic, a kettle would be useful, but ok for an overnight. Noisy in the morning, our floor seemed busy and a skip delivery happened right under our window at 8am! Shower was nice and hot. Staff very polite and friendly nParking for 24 hours is £8, not many spaces for the size of the hotel. We really appreciated that it was pet friendly.
had a pleasant stay at Ibis Budget Birmingham, and the biggest highlight was the fantastic location—super convenient for getting around the city. The staff were absolutely lovely, friendly, and available 24/7, making the experience feel welcoming and hassle-free.nnThe breakfast was nice, though it leaned more towards sweet options, with limited choices for those who prefer savory foods. The rooms, while clean, were quite small and basic, and I missed having a hair dryer in the room. Given the price, the space felt a bit tight, but if you're looking for a no-frills stay in a prime location with great service, this is still a solid option.nnWould recommend for short stays and travelers prioritizing location over luxury!
Standard experience for the price you pay. Good for the night with basic facilities and good transport links to the city centre.nStaff were welcoming and friendly and able to assist in general queries.nParking available with on street availability to in the chance that the car park is full.nnFew vendor machines for a quick coffee / soft drink / snacks.nnRooms are clean and seem well maintained, but it's not a fancy kinda vibe or has the complimentary coffee / tea refill in the room
I absolutely love this hotel! It’s incredibly convenient, situated in a fantastic location, and it usually offers parking, which is a huge bonus—especially when it’s not fully booked. The staff here are truly exceptional. They’re always so friendly and welcoming, and what really stands out is that they remember me even after months between visits. It’s always nice to see familiar faces, which really adds a personal touch to each stay.nnThat being said, there are a few areas that could use some improvement. While I understand that this is a budget hotel, the quality of the bedrooms could certainly be enhanced. The rooms are always kept clean, which is great, but the pillows, mattress, and duvet are of poor quality, leading to uncomfortable nights and not the best sleep. On my most recent stay, I also noticed a very unpleasant smell in the room. After some investigation, I discovered that the bed frame, which had a green linen-type material, was the source of the odor. This is something the cleaning team should take into consideration and address, as it definitely impacted the overall experience.nnDespite these issues, I still consider this hotel a great option overall. It’s cost-effective, in a prime location, and the staff make it a truly welcoming place to stay. With a few improvements in room quality, particularly regarding the bedding and cleanliness, this would easily become a perfect hotel for anyone looking for an affordable and pleasant stay.
Basic hotel. Bed mattress was too hard. Despite only requesting a room with a double bed, we were given a room with a double bed with a bunk hovering over the top half of the bed not great for tall people as you'll end up hitting your head on the top bunk.nThe toilet was also separate but very narrow, again if you're tall you'll end up hitting your head on the toilet door as you get up from the toilet seat as it's too close to the toilet.nFinally, the shower wasn't great, the flow of the water was very low and there's no way to adjust the flow on the shower head, hence the 3 stars.nnThere's no kettle or teas/coffees.nnIf you need an iron then you'll have to bring your clothes down to iron them near the reception room and if the iron has no water for the steam then you have to come back to your room to bring some water back down. Hence the 3 stars.nnHowever, there are some good bits. You can adjust the temperature in the room, the TV has some channels, more than basic.nThere's also a microwave you can use especially if you have something to warm up at night.nnThis would be great value for money if the location was outside of the clean air zone as you're not paying the charge for 2 days, the only benefit for the location is that you're near city centre.nnMy take is to spend the extra £20 and get yourself to Travel Lodge or Holiday Inn.
