I stayed at this hotel for the first time and I was not disappointed. I was welcomed by friendly staff at reception and shown to my room. The room was decorated accordingly for a friend's birthday. I spent time at the beautiful spa and check out time was extended as a gesture of goodwill. The hotel manager - January was extremely polite and welcoming. I will most definitely be coming back and would truly recommend to others.
I recently stayed at this hotel and, despite the high cost, found it to be quite good overall. The customer service was excellent, with the exception of the sauna staff. When I requested a bathrobe, they told me to wait 10 minutes, but 15 minutes later, they were still giggling and sitting on their phones. For the price paid, I expected better focus on customer experience.nnThe breakfast staff, on the other hand, was wonderful. The manager was present on the floor, ensuring every customer was well taken care of by the waiters. The receptionists were also great, and the room service was top-notch. They cleaned everything thoroughly and replaced all the towels and amenities.nnIf you are planning a trip to London and have a high budget, I would recommend this place. The sauna, jacuzzi, and pool are must-tries. However, the gym could use some improvements.
I stayed at the Montcalm over the holiday season and while the lobby appeared well dressed, I couldn’t say the same for the rest of the hotel. Upon check in, the staff seemed disconnected, aloof and honestly distracted and disinterested. My stay at the Montcalm was impromptu due to rail issues that kept me in London. However, even after explaining the extenuating circumstances that led me to the hotel, the staff was extremely unaccommodating and unhelpful. My colleague and I ended up sitting and waiting over 8 hours in the lobby because the hotel couldn’t accommodate an early check in nor help us figure out nearby alternatives to wait the long duration they made us wait. By the second day of my stay, the room I was in was left without heat or warm water due to a pipe burst. I will commend the staff on automatically upgrading our room. But, the pipe issue was not addressed by the hotel, rather by a complaint we made that then exposed the issue and promoted a room upgrade.nnI travel a lot for work and it’s so unfortunate to experience these issues since this hotel comes so highly rated.nnSave your money and stay in a better location with better service and staff.
I’ve been to London a handful of times for work over the past few years. The Montcalm is the best hotel I found. Rooms are spacious and clean, the staff is very attentive to your needs, the continental breakfast is really good. I couldn’t test the gym as it was under renovation but it looked great on the pictures. I will come back!
Luxury from start to finish! This hotel is so well appointed for both the business centre and the vibrant London scene.nFrom the moment you step inside the hotel you feel becalmed, this is an incredibly welcoming and very efficient hotel.nThe smile and greeting from the doorman;the professional, slick reception team to the super helpful Head Concierge, Daniel- all of the Montcalm team were excellent.nThe rooms continue that luxurious vibe-they are large, stylish and very, very comfortable. There are lots of lovely touches-locally made bathroom products which are great to equally spacious bathrooms with awesome showers!nRoyal London House will be our destination of choice again very soon!
