They are destroying city hospital! Absolutely disgraceful!
Still being finished should be ready for September
Got no issue with the new hospital and will hopefully improve that part of Cape Hill create jobs and shops etc but have to say once again no thought for people getting here. Very few buses serve it and if you dont live on 87 or 82 bus you are buggered like many in Smethwick and Oldbury. Lack of connections especially from Sandwell again most will need two buses to get there. Why are Sandwell residents always forgotten I live in Smethwick but once again Warley is forgotten about transport wise or an after thought. If they dont want loads of congestion and parking issues then think of decent bus links connecting various towns and residential areas to this new hospital. 80 was moved when it was direct to that area years ago then bus drivers said 'oh its only a short walk from Summerfield Park' - well it isnt, what do they know? I have been with my Mom to City Hospital and it would be 20mins walk to 87 or 80 and 15mins across very busy roads to treatment centre or a very unreliable local bus. Why the bus was rerouted is beyond me and zero thought for disabled or elderly getting there in many parts of Smethwick and West Bromwich especially for others in Sandwell who have to switch buses at West Bromwich. They then had to fiddle with various routes as people moaned‍ People on Windmill Lane have to get two buses to City Hospital as 80 doesnt serve it and elderly and disabled have to get two buses. I dont live there but can see the issues. Why do they assume we all live on 87 or 82 routes and then expect people to change buses or walk loads? but at the same time concerned about congestion? ‍ it is bonkers! Plus do they expect elderly disabled to get on a bike or walk 30mins from trains? Come on think a bit and put in decent transport and people will use it. At the moment TfWM are obsessed by bikes and walking for fit middle aged men they couldnt care about anyone else
Much needed development. Everyone whinging in these comments would not open their mouths if they ever needed healthcare anywhere else in the world. Count your blessings. Nhs has made you all complacent to how much healthcare costs
People can't help but put this long waiting hospitalto open but when it's been put right people I think won't be able to praise it enough
Who gave the green light for this bottomless money pit ? £350 million yeah add another £250 million more like ! What a waste of Nhs money improve what facilities you already have might even be more cost effective !
17.04.23. Here before it opens years after they said they’d open it years earlier
Beautiful nice doctors
Fantastic people nothing wasn't too much help for staff very friendly and listened to what I had to say
Is this place ever going to open. They keep moving the opening date. And add extra costs.
