Loved this boutique hotel. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to most of the popular tourist attractions. But the best part was the staff! Especially Anna at the front desk. She gave me directions and helped me figure out the trains to get to Heathrow. An unexpected bonus was having a staff member make you a hot beverage of your choice and a plate of fresh pastries each morning. Loved The Melita Hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
Plesant stay, room was a bit small but that is mist of London. Loved that it was within a walkable distance to main attractions. Staff is great:Rooms: 4/5
We arrived to the hotel, and walked up 5 flights of stairs to access the room, which felt like an afterthought of a room in the attic. It was tiny, with barely room to walk between the beds, the ceiling was so low, my 5ft11 husband had to duck to walk around, which was not how the pictures depicted it. I've seen larger bathrooms in airplanes, and the shower was so small that my average sized husband couldn't even fit in it. It was incredibly hot due to it being in the attic space, and the fans did not help. We found a dirty sock sticking out from under one of the beds, a dirty piece of toilet paper behind one of the beds, and the bed quality so awful, we couldn't sleep. Our bed had actual springs sticking out of it!! Upon leaving the attic room, the stairs on the way down were being dripped on from an open skylight, and towels were laid down on the carpeted stairs to catch the water. It was, by far, the worst room we have ever stayed in, and we have traveled extensively throughout the world. We complained to management early the following morning July 5, and the manager, Alan, then told us if we checked out ASAP, that they would re-list the room online to try to get it rented out for the next 2 days, and we would get a refund for those 2 days once it was re-rented. I checked online repeatedly that day, and they never re-listed the room. They failed to deliver on their promise, and now they are accusing me of blackmail as I am sharing my frustrations with them and their failure to deliver, indicating that if I go to social media, they will report me to the police. They are threatening me! This has been the most awful hotel experience we’ve ever had, with their lies and threats. *Update based on their response: I understand that everybody’s version of “rectifying” a situation is different, but doing absolutely nothing and threatening your guest is absolutely unacceptable. We are not from Palm Springs in fact, I was raised in Spain, but currently reside in the US, and don’t have high expectations, especially since we are very well traveled and understand spaces are different depending on the country we are visiting. We just expected a somewhat comfortable bed to sleep in and a clean room we could actually stand tall in without hitting our heads. I have never given such a poor review, but I want to be sure that the next guest knows what to expect in reference to the room and customer service. Thankfully, we found a lovely hotel down the street at a lower price than your space, so it all worked out for us.
Great location, walking distance Victoria Coach station, they provide fresh handmade bakery for breakfast, which superb. convinient with a lot nice restaurant around, just no lift, other than that everything is gd with the priceRooms: 5/5
Family run hotel in heritage listed Victorian building with friendly staff in a quiet but central location just minutes from Victoria station. The freshly baked pastries straight from the kitchen are yummy. Rooms: Small rooms with lots of stairs. Walkability: Walk to Victoria Station, walk to Buckingham Palace. Food & drinks: Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
Little and cozy hotel in a great location. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is everything you might need, they are also very warm, which is always very appreciated after a long day out in London during winter months. The staff is really nice and helpful, there is also a small complimentary breakfast in the common area, along with really good espresso. Totally worth it. Would definitely return here.
I had a small room, given the fact this is Kensington and this hotel is the cheapest around I didn't expect much, the bed was OK, and everything was generally nothing that I'd loudly complain about but if this hotel at this price would have been anywhere else the price would be very much not tolerable. Rooms: The single room is OK, you have to be able to ignore the creaking stairs and be aware that most of the hotel has seen better times. Nearby activities: Kensington and the City of Westminster is packed with activities: Visit Parlament, the Buckingham Palace, the museums around, it's very much the place to be! Safety: Never felt unsafe, all the doors have card locks Walkability: Very walkable, everything you'd need is nearby, grocery stores, public transportation and many restaurants.
Annie was amazing, very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The morning staff were always smiling, it was wonderful having tea and a selection of fresh baked croissants every morning before exploring the city. Rooms were cleaned every day. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough made my first visit to London memorable. Within walking distance to Buckingham Palace, beautiful quiet up market area.
Nice hotel, clean and from what I saw, well appointed and well looked after, shower was nice and hot with shampoo and shower gel dispensers conveniently placed, heated towel rail and enough space is good for this price range. Bed was comfy and even in the single room there was space to sit & work if needed. Pimlico is very close to the centre of London, 10 mins walk to Westminster, close to Victoria Station for overground and tube. Stumbling distance from the magnificent O Sole Mio Italian Restaurant as an added bonus.
Our room was on the smaller side but neat and clean. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The location is in a nice neighborhood with local amenities. Food & drinks: The complimentary tea coffee and pastries in the lobby are wonderful.
