Located peering distance from the Kings Cross station it has no connection with the Carlton Group of hotels.. It is an economy hotel, in fact a cheap version of a hotel. It has match box size rooms with small height. It makes the room stuffy and a small fan is provided which touches your head. The wash room is just barely broad enough to move around. Cost cutting to another level. . No room service from the dining hall. A very small area for electric kettle and sachets. Go if absolute must and you have more luggage than you can manage. The luggage storage and Indian Restaurants run by Bangladeshi and Pakistani expatriates are plentyfull nearby.. They all go by the name of Indian Restaurants.
This was the WORST hotel i’ve been to. There are no words to describe how terrible everything was.. the rooms were absolutely disgusting. They had wall stains next to the bed, furniture was too old, and the smell, don’t get me started with the smell.. i had to keep the windows open the whole time just to get the smell out.. and guess what? Flys started to get to the room. The other thing is that it’s impossible to get a goodnight sleep there because you would hear everything happening outside the hotel, people singing in the kings cross station, people laughing, crying, motorbikes, fights, you name it. In addition to the location i only gave it a 2 star because of how close it was to kings cross station and the mini markets over there, other than that just absolutely no. The neighborhood is not considered to be safe as there was a lot and i mean A LOT happening down there. Elevator was small only holds up to 150 kilos so if you have many bags you should go 1 by 1 with each bag without the help of staff.. there wasn’t any blackouts for three windows, only light curtains so whenever there’s a light you would see it in the room, and you would always wake up in the morning with the sunrise. A lot of sirens outside that just kept going for the whole day even at night time. In conclusion, i would strongly recommend to find a better place to stay in, even if you payed more trust me its worth it.
The room and the hotel were small, but it was expected, because you can clearly see it on the website. When we visited London, we only stayed it the room at night, because we visited all day long! It's perfect for people that come to visit and don't spend time in the rooms. The breakfast was not included, just like it said on the website. It's close to King's Cross and British Library. There are a lot of places where you can get food, mostly fast food. We enjoyed our trip to London and the room was nice.
At check in, we were sent to an annex building. Small room. Shower was tiny. Bed and pillow were like cardboard - hard and uncomfortable. Small ceiling fan. Our window opened without problem, though. Room was clean but smelled strongly of bleach. No lift in the annex. We left and went to another hotel. No refund offered, but we understood we assumed the risk. Posting here to say - don’t be fooled by four star rating on google. Not a 4 star, not a diamond in the rough. Recommend spending a few dollars more for the Premier Inn.
I am elderly, alone, I needed to move my from reservation and walked in. The people were lovely to me and helpful. The room room 5 is absolutely clean and while basic has everything you need. shower, lift, tea, tv, wifi, fridge, many drawers, fan, window, quiet. I am so grateful. stayed the week and was happy. It is directly across the road from Kings Cross station. not fancy and tiny but altogether useful.
Photos are nothing as what the place really looks like. Smells like mold. The receptionist does not have a computer and writes on a book by hand, and she did not have a telephone to call a taxi. I could not stay in any of the three rooms that she showed me due to the bad odor. The elevator fits only one person at a time. I had already paid before seeing the rooms, and I only got the refund for the second night as the policy says. Don't go there.
The window not closed properly so all the day/night it's like you sleep in the middle of the traffic. The street is very noisy at night due to the location. The flush not worked in the tiny bathroom, no sockets at the bed to charge your phone. The main door is super noisy when you closed it. You can heard the people in the room nearby. Find the room cleaned and tidy. The staff is kind but not all of them. The location is well deserved but expensive for what you get. This is a 2 stars hotel for me. Not more. Walkability: Close to bus and train stations. Food & drinks: Many restaurants in the area
Look, it's near King's Cross station. That alone is worth a fortune. You better believe the room quality is gonna suffer. Room is TINY. You better be traveling light as there's not a lot place to put your bag We booked in the middle of summer, so good thing there was at least 1 tiny fan to keep us cool. But hey, if you're in London, you probably aren't gonna be in your room a lot. Also don't believe what some websites say. There is no free breakfast. There is no breakfast. There's a couple of good food in King's Cross station anyway. Summary: Great Location, below average rooms. 3/5 will stay again if I need to be near King's Cross
The rooms are quite small, but the place is absolutely spotless. The staff is really great and while it doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles, it is a perfect place to put your bags down while you go out exploring. Its location right near Saint Pancras Station really helped. Beds are small, but still comfortable enough to sleep in. It was absolutely perfect for me. Once again really helpful and friendly staff made a big difference.
This is a great basic, affordable place to stay by Kings Cross. My small room didn't seem to have lift access or aircon--but it had a tiny private bath/toilet, a great fridge and tea equipment, a window that opened, and it was really quiet, considering I was in the middle of London. The staff were efficient and friendly. I wouldn't recommend this place at least my room for the disabled, elderly, or those traveling with children. But it was great for a solo traveler like me.
