The classic looking auditorium of this theatre is a nice surprise considering the more modern exterior. As the auditorium is a few floors up, there is a pleasant surprise of a roof garden as extra space to wait for the performance.
Nice atmospheric theatre with a good bar and large rooftop area. Enjoyed the play I saw - Minority Report - thought the staging was excellent. The only downside was that one of the actors was substituted - which was fine - but it delayed the start about 45 mins with no information given as why we couldn't enter the auditorium.
I saw Fangirls, really liked how the whole theatre and staff team fit the theme of the show. The entrance is quite unexciting and disconcerting if you don't know you're in the right place. Nice new build, but old style theatre. Be prepared to climb lots of stairs to get up there as it's all above street level!
This venue is in a great location with plenty of pre-theatre dining and shopping options. The Lyric at Hammersmith has a good bar, a lovely roof garden and good variety of theatre productions to suit all tastes. We went to see 'Our Country's Good' and were not dissapointed. We also love their family shows running on Saturdays throughout September, they are all good fun for the young ones.
Theatre was in a great easy to get to location, a few minutes walk from Hammersmith tube station. Seats don’t have much legroom and safety bar blocked most of the performance. View is from Upper Circle, Row A, Seat 7.
A first visit to The Lyric Theatre Hammersmith. Pleasent modern building Staff helpful Performance. Faith Healer by Brian Friel. Very good three person play. Second visit to The Lyric Theatre Hammersmith. Show. The minority Report. Brilliant script by David Haig and great cast led by Jodie McKee who I saw in Cuckoo. Much better than the movie version. Do see.
Even if you sit at stalls there are many stairs to climb and not many toilets so definitely get there early! Its a nice surprise though didn't think it'd be so big as the entrance seems small. The bar looks lovely will try to get there earlier next time to hang out. Very close to tube exit which is a big plus.
Went to see Fangirls which was great fun and got the audience really involved. just a warning there are lots of stairs up to the auditorium but tgere are lifts which are not signposted so ask for them. Also gender neutral toilets.
Lovely theatre, went to see funny play there. Love Lyric Square, has a good vibe. The theatre is a few minutes walk from Hammersmith tube station. Great bar and the food looked really good and was going down well. The theatre has a roof-top terrace which was lovely in this weather. The walls of the theatre are covered in art work. Tickets were reasonably priced via Today Tix.
Best non West End London theatre I think. Decent view from all seats. Lovely staff. Decent drinks. But most importantly diverse, high standard repertoire with so many opportunities given to young people and local people. One wish is that the non - gender toilets shouldn't have urinals in them, just cubicles.
