A clean, efficient and well run hospital. Happy staff, good food and amazing views of London. I'm not a fan of hospitals but my time here was the best it could have been. A few minutes walk from London Bridge station opposite side of Guys hospital exit
I have been here multiple times for surgery an unfortunate recurring condition and have had wildly different experiences each time. I have given four stars as overall it's been positive, most staff have been friendly and caring, and the rooms are very nice indeed. However I've also had negative experiences in the past, for example I woke up in the night in pain - this was my first night recovering from surgery - but when I simply asked the nurse on duty for another dose of painkillers she just laughed and said "you're playing me" before walking out. If my head was more together I would have asked for her full name but sadly as this was the middle of the night after just having surgery and in severe pain I didn't think to do that, in fact I was almost frozen and stunned a nurse would act like that. On another occasion I'd already given them a list of my medications multiple times, notably one of them has a severe interaction with tramadol: grand mal seizures. But what did they try to give me via IV, without even telling me? You guessed it, tramadol. Luckily I asked what it was before they jabbed it into my arm and warned them of the interaction, at which point the nurse went to speak to a doctor and brought me an alternative painkiller. On following visits I made sure to explicitly tell them I could not take tramadol and they were very accomodating after giving me a red band, but most patients wouldn't be aware of every interaction their meds could cause and shouldn't have to self-advocate just to avoid a grand mal seizure. We trust medical professionals to know these things already. After that little rant though it's only fair I circle back and say the majority of my experiences and interactions with staff were very positive, and with those rooms and that view it's certainly far nicer than staying in an NHS hospital that's for sure.
This hospital goes above and beyond looking after their patients! From the doctors/Consultants nurses/staff they are all helpful kind and great at their jobs but especially Augustine who is working outside the two main entrances. He is so kind and helpful dealing in such a calm manner directing all the cars/lorries/taxis that is a full time job in itself. Yet he is always smiling calm friendly and a it’s always a pleasure to see him!
Good hospital with helpful staff, located in good part of London with lots to do. Just ask and staff will help you! Also managed to get all the tests my consultant wanted on the same afternoon, so no extra trips to have them done!
The hospital is fantastic but Augustin the parking attendant was absolutely brilliant during out 5 day stay. He helped us in and out the car, found us parking and was just a real nice guy in general. Thank you.
Attended walk in GP without appointment. Given an appointment within 15 minutes. GP reasonable and pragmatic approach. Reception staff courteous. Paid £80 for a consultation. Well worth it for efficiency and service. Will use again if needed.
I had a day surgery yesterday and was impressed with everything from start to finish, especially the doctors and nurses. I don’t have much basis for comparison and it’s my first time in hospital, but I’d be happy if all of my future hospital stays were like this.
While the medical staff and medical treatment were very good overall, the room facilities leave a lot to be desired. The room I got was not representative of what you see in the marketing publications, internet site, or glossy brochures. It was a room with no natural light at all, it had a window that backed onto the core of the building as shown in the photo and was overall pretty grim. When I asked to be moved to another room I was advised that "this is the room you've got so there you go". The porter, who was actually training another person accompanying us at the time, then left me in the room to get ready for my surgery. It was only when I left to the room on my way back down to reception did I get someone to listen to me. I was moved round the corner to another room which was much the same no window, no natural light but as I was a day case I just decided to get it over with. A surgical visit should be as stress-free as possible and this was far from that. If a room can't offer daylight or natural light, it should not be offered as a patient room for a surgical stay. Overall, not recommended at all and management should consider the suitability of some of the rooms that fall well below what one would expect from a organisation "at the forefront of world-class private healthcare."
Had my first ever procedure here under general anesthetic and from the moment I walked in the door until I left the next day every member of staff I encountered were helpful, lovely and understanding. From Porters to Surgeons everyone spoke in a calm reassuring voice. The food was good too
I had fantastic care here. From the nurses Elizah who I've put forward for daisy award to a really humorous Dr Saad my anaesthetist who made me laugh so I didn't think about the needle I was out in seconds just like I like it!And Jason his assistant who was great and of course Mr Syed Aftab who is a really warm and friendly surgeon who administered the injection. What a great experience. I would definitely recommend the London Bridge hospital Many thanks.
