Had a strange experience here during second birth...my husband worked in the medical field and had spotted problematic readings on one of the machines...nurse said nothing is wrong and her shift is almost over, so she decided to turn off the machine. About 40mins had passed and my health was declining, when we finally saw a doctor, the same nurse walked in and turned the machine back on as though we don't have eyes...bad news was I had to give birth immediately with no pain relief or anything as it was too late for epidurals etc. There was a lot of shouting outside when the head nurse confronted her but we couldn't make out what it all was due to the chaos...the only saving grace is a couple of the nurses and midwives in aftercare were very thoughtful and caring, thus the 2 stars.
Awful. I been in the hospital second Saturday now, with a lot of pain in the ear! First time when I was there they didn’t even look at my ear and they told me to use paracetamol Second time I been there was yesterday finally one of the doctors she decided to help me with my ear pain! She took the medicine scissors and she was pushing to my ear instead of getting better because I think emergency services will help me they give me more pain! After all she told me to GOOGLE it near me EAR WAX CLEANING! I ask her for a advice where should I go and she again just GOOGLE IT I just just want to say to the government that they paying money for no reason for this stupid people! Government should pay to GOOGLE COMPANY
Alys and I had our baby at the end of July 2024 at the Royal London Hospital and all the members of staff we interacted with were kind, conscientious and patient. We wanted to say a massive thank you for helping us through a challenging time. We cannot remember the names of everyone we crossed paths with but wanted to mention a couple of people. Emmeline, Lucy, Karen & Nothando, Stella and Esmeline. Apologies for any misspellings or to anyone we have forgotten. You are all amazing! Joe, Alys & Ada.
Service was swift when I went for a walk-in test. They said it would take half an hour for me to be called but it took like 10 minutes. But there were so many people in the waiting area though and in the hospital in general. Busy place.
Following an operation on 15 July for a Spine issue sadly my wound did not heal properly and got infected. This was treated initially by the Spinal team who, without exception, were amazing. Then I had to be admitted for a washout and was admitted to ward 12C. Once again, the Staff were exceptional. Despite their heavy workload and awkward, sometimes very rude patients, they always had a smile and treated me with utmost respect and professionalism. Sadly my experience was slightly marred by the catering department. What the hell do they think they are serving up to sick patients? Utter Tripe. I would not feed that muck to my dog. Gladly, I was only in for 6 days or I would have starved. Truly shocking
I’ve never thought to even write a review on a hospital before on here but due to the amazing patient care and experience I had today I had to. I have had multiple visits due to psoriasis but this is the first time I feel like I’ve had a successful appointment thanks to consultant dermatologist Dr. Micheal Hazell. Dr Hazell spent the time to truly listen to my symptoms today, look at photos of the issue, diagnose what has been going on, as well as providing me some much needed medication that I haven’t been offered before that looks like it will help significantly. He truly took the time to listen and wasn’t dismissive, nor did he try to fob me off or downplay my symptoms just because they aren’t as severe looking as other people and took my symptoms seriously. His knowledge truly reflects his many years as a doctor and he has an amazing and warm bedside manner putting you at ease and respecting you as a patient. I can’t praise him enough and I’ve just met him! I haven’t started the meds yet as I’ve only just had the appointment but from what he’s said and the meds prescribed, my psoriasis should be on the way to improvement and I have faith it will. I have been desperately looking for a solution as it has been getting worse over time and this Dr is the only one who has taken this seriously and just not told me I need to wait until it gets worse for a more effective solution. He listened, effectively diagnosed and provided the care that you would expect seeing a consultant dermatologist. I believe he’s a locum Dr that doesn’t live in London but if he stops doing shifts here I will go to see him at his own clinic or do online consults as he’s that amazing. Hope you see this and thanks again
Staff on 14E tell us there is no target time for response to calling for nurse. That certainly seems to be true. On 14F staff seem not to know how to move or manage elderly patients with cellulitis. Since it is the elderly services ward that is a shock. Mishandling has resulted in a massive haematoma from which there is no possibility of recovery. A sad end to a long life. The original admission was for pneumonia from which a recovery was expected.
I went for a routine X-ray. On the 1st floor lift 8. Fine so far. After the X-ray something was spotted by the X-ray so was told to wait outside. Waited and after fifteen minutes was given a letter to take to the A&e. Went to A&e. Was given a wrist band and seen by a nurse after fifteen minutes and then told to wait. After waiting 4 hours seen by another nurse who had no inter personal skills and actually lied to the doctor stating wrong prognosis. I am in excruciating pain due to a torn ligament in my hand. The fact that I am taking painkillers like tic tacs and using up to one voltarol gel a week went over the nurses head and she told the doctor I had this pain over six weeks so could cope with the pain. Rude and arrogant and rushing. I could wait our hours but the practicing nurse was obtuse and overtly rude. I enclose a copy of the letter the X-ray nurse gave me as proof of this statement. If you cannot work these hours under stress dealing with people humanely then this is the wrong profession for you.
My son was seen due to suspected appendicitis. Surgery took place on the next day. Spending a day and night in pediatrics UTC was very nice due to the extremely pleasant and professional staff. Huge thanks to Mohammed, Olivia and Alison. You guys are true professional! You took such a great care of any needs and questions we had. Alison, thanks for the entertainment! Also, thank you to the staff from 7D! Thank you to the entire surgery team who worked on 23.09.24! Sorry, couldn't remember all the names Overall, everyone were very friendly and approachable! Highly recommended!
Midwifes here are not following the proper slot of the antibiotics been given. Plus they not gentle at all when it comes to taking blood, change iv or even simple things like turn off the light in the middle of the night after checking up. They don’t care about the patient, they work here for the money not because they love this job which is look after people! Plus they have an attitude when you going to ask them for simple stuff like some new bed sheets or that they forget to give antibiotics when is due to!
