Overall great stay at the Kelvingrove Hotel! I was there for the World Pipe Band Championships. Its proximity to Kelvingrove Park is perfect 5 min walk to the fountain. The rooms are clean and well appointed given how inexpensive the hotel is. The daily Scottish breakfast is quite good and worth the daily breakfast prepaid fee. Joe at the front desk was exceptional. Great service. There when you need him. I’ll be back next year.
My favourite place to stay in Glasgow! I've returned multiple times in different visits and booked the stay to kick off and then to end our honeymoon. Perfect location, the friendliest staff, and endless food options. Book with them directly for the best deals. Can't wait to be back :Rooms: 5/5
The room had everything you needed, loved having the mini fridge for keeping your drinks and snacks cool. Bed was very comfortable. Great location for getting into the centre either by bus or a half hour walk and very convenient for the hydro. Plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from along sauchiehall street. The man on reception was polite and friendly and made you feel very welcome. The only negative point would be that the skirting boards could do with a lick of paint they were a bit worn looking. Would definitely go back.
The Kelvingrove is in a great location convenient to museums, parks, and wonderful restaurants. The staff was welcoming. Our room was small and somewhat challenging to move around in. The bathroom was also quite compact. Access to our room was via a staircase with steps of different heights. For safety and convenience, I would recommend bringing bags no larger than a carry-on.
My wife and I had a great stay at the Kelvingrove. Check-in was fast and easy. The person on the desk when we checked in was incredibly helpful and friendly sorry, but we can’t remember her name. Our room was clean and quiet, apart from the macerator pump in the bathroom. Our only gripe about the room was with the bed. It was a bit hard and uneven two twins to make a king. Breakfast was delicious. According to my wife, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly! We were really well located as well; close to great attractions Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum is a 5 minute walk and lots of great restaurants. We’d definitely stay again!
We had a lovely, lovely stay. Such a comfortable airy light room and helpful friendly staff. The location was great- a few yards from the Kelvingrove Museum & Art Gallery & thee we university & parks. Many good eating places within minutes. The Red Bus Tour stops almost outside. We intend to return!
Hotel location and staff were excellent. Only one complaint: the downstairs rooms have a pump that automatically turns on whenever anyone uses water. It's extremely loud, aggressive and disrupting. I found it difficult to sleep through the night because someone's pump was going off every few minutes. Also, it made showering uncomfortable. Recommend requesting a room upstairs if you are a light sleeper... Maybe even if you are a heavy sleeper.
The room was clean and tidy and adequate for our stay. The on suite shower was good but not a lot of room to use the toilet as the heated towel rail was in the way. The welcome was warm and friendly and the service excellent. The breakfast was adequate but could have been better the sausages and bacon were hard . But other wise would stay there again
Nice and central hotel, it's super close to Kelvingrove park and museum. Our room was spacious and clean we had a triple room. Staff was friendly and the check-in and check out was quick. It's not an accessible hotel, since it has many steps and I didn't see an accessible ramp or lift. The downside is that water pipes are noisy, each time we were using shower or sink, it will make noise, so not ideal at night. And the windows are thin so could hear everything in the street cars, bus, drunk people shouting.. but otherwise we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay there again when we come back to Glasgow :
Just left the Kelvingrove Hotel after a very satisfying two night stay. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Joe at the front desk was wonderful - welcoming, friendly, and shared recommendations for our next destination. The location was perfect - very walkable.Rooms: 4/5
