My mum and I stayed for two nights. We booked a room with two single beds, it was a bit small but doable. Cosy layout, very clean and quiet. The beds were a bit short for my 6'2 but the mattress was comfortable. Good bathroom, felt fresh and modern. Staff at reception was friendly and very helpful. Great location, lots of shops and bars nearby. Would stay here again if I ever return to Glasgow. Rooms: Our room was small but cosy two single beds. Had a nice little view onto the courtyard with some trees. It was close to the elevator but very quiet. Very clean. Perfect for a two night stay. Walkability: Within walking distance: Kelvingrove Park, a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars, a bunch of small supermarkets, bus stops with buses to city center within 2 mins walking. Food & drinks: Breakfast was nice. Good options and friendly staff. The restaurant was not open on the days we were there so we didn't try that.
Room was clean. Mattress comfortable. Noisy, no insulation, can hear noise from the corridor, from above and next rooms and from the street. It was Saturday night and there was music on from some nearby place until midnight. You could hear people talking on the street. Bathroom very tiny, however clean and updated. No plugs beside the bed. No usb plug. Wifi did not work until late pm. When asked the receptionist for reasons, they simply told me to check my device... wifi was not working on all my 'broken' devices, how unfortunate. Breakfast was 20 GPB!!! No fresh fruit, no non-dairy options, no gluten free options. No nuts/nut butter. Ridiculous. Not recommended.
Handy for the SEC and a 10 min walk to the train station to get us back to Glasgow Central to get the train home. Our room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Staff were really friendly too.Rooms: 4/5
We spent a night here. The location is pretty close to the city center. One problem is that there is no parking, so you have to park on the street, and last night it was full. The room was alright, and the price is reasonable for what you get. We had breakfast too, but I think they shouldn’t charge for it because we had to wait a long time for the bacon and were quite disappointed.
Staff very friendly and approachable. Room and bathroom were immaculate and the beds very comfortable. Buffet breakfast had lovely selection of cereals, fruit juices and hot food was freshly prepared. Rooms: Homely, beds comfy and everything was clean Nearby activities: Kelvingrove Park 200yds from hotel. 20 minute walk to city centre. Bus stop right outside. Food & drinks: Tasty, freshly prepared hot food.
Rooms are pretty cheap but are good for the money. Location isn't the best, but close to Finnieston, so 5 minutes from various pubs and 10 - 15 minute walk to Hydro. Stayed 3 times and each time reception staff have seemed almost delighted to have my custom. Little things like that make a big difference.Rooms: 5/5
Receptionist was quite unfriendly and unwelcoming so set a bad experience from the start. Also it's ridiculous to not have anyone at the desk at checkout time. Was stuck waiting in the lobby with 7 other strangers for 10mins until we all decided to dump our room cards and leave. If there is an express way to check out you should let customers know. Rooms otherwise rooms were fine enough for the price.
My rating is based on the fact that it is a 3 star hotel. I traveled solo to Scotland and was looking for a clean, reasonably priced hotel in a good location. The Argyll met those needs. The space was clean. As a solo traveler, I booked their smallest/cheapest room. It was small as expected, but didn't feel cramped. I would imagine they have larger and more spacious rooms for those seeking it. I was impressed by the front desk service - they gave me recommendations for public transportation, etc. The location was fantastic and nearby the Kelvingrove Park, Museum/Gallery, University. It was within easy walking distance of the West End, too. It was even close enough to walk to Buchanan Bus Station and Queen Street Train Station 30-40 min walk or a very quick Uber ride. The only reason I marked 4 instead of 5 stars for the room is because there were a few cosmetic things I wouldn't have expected eg. spackle patches on the wallpaper, visible drywall tape
Thank you for a lovely restful stay, the room was clean and fresh. Enjoyed the delicious food at the Soul Food restaurant and an amazing location, with so many places to visit. Will definitely be back Rooms: 5/5
Very tastefully decorated, excellent shower and the location couldn't be better for the Kelvingrove Bandstand.Rooms: 5/5
