Just back from an overnight stay with my partner. Fantastic stay! Every member of staff very friendly & accommodating. Sonia I think on reception was exceptionally lovely! Dinner & breakfast was great and service 10/10. Any request we had was granted including late check out. Room was lovely & clean - had everything we needed. Iron, fridge etc with beautiful view. Had a great Swedish massage & we used the pool and sauna this morning - perfect! Only hotel we will be staying at now
The location was awesome, and the pool would have been amazing if the 1 hot tub wasn't closed for cleaning. The rooms were clean and I loved how much free hot chocolate you get. We did have quite a bit of trouble at the front desk, the lady manager didn't seem to have great people skills, she couldn't figure out how to help us and kept repeating herself and was quite rude. But the other receptionist named Mohammed figured out how to help us and was actually really helpful and friendly. Overall, a great stay
Stayed for two nights last week in a lovely suite with lounge access. Stunning location with the best views of Glasgow, extremely clean rooms, beautiful pool and sauna.Although we had a couple of issues it was promptly sorted by the staff and the manager Martin, who was is an asset to the company. It most definitely would not put us off of staying again. A must stay if you are attending the hydro or secc. ..just excellent
I stayed here whilst attending the World Sci-Fi Convention. Extremely expensive for what amounts to a 2* experience. WiFi is so poor I had frequently to use data roaming on my phone. The staff in the dining area are too busy talking amongst themselves to clear tables and make space for guests trying to get breakfast and none of them know what a tea pot is!. There is a 10 minutes wait for the lift they only have 3 and they constantly broke down. Lots of people with restricted mobility at the convention were left stranded. Rooms: Room was comfortable and had air-conditioning. It showed signs of wear with water damage very visible in the bathroom. TV is not connected to the Internet and the poor WiFi made it impossible to connect a chromecast or laptop to it. The housekeeping staff were good and attentive. Nearby activities: Directly connected to the SEC. Walkability: Conference area only accessible through 1 corridor with no wheelchair access there was a single broken lift. Only 3 lifts to the bedrooms with long delays and all 3 broke down frequently over our 6-day stay. Food & drinks: Extremely over-priced for average food and drinks a pint was approximately €8 and a burger with chips approximately €20. Breakfast was OK but it's easy to see where corners are being cut and there was no tea/coffee service from the staff who were mostly unresponsive to questions and slow to clean up.
We unfortunately didn't book to stay here as our experience at your competitors opposite awful. We did tho have our dinner with you.Your dining room hostess and staff were excellent and all very friendly. The food was of fantastic standard and a good price. If we hadn't have been going to an event at The Hydro we could have stayed all evening. We will definitely book to stay with you on our return.Thank you.
Convenient for getting to lots of locations in the city and right opposite the Science Centre but this place is pretty tired around the edges. Service was varied, from some absolutely lovely staff - thank you Callum at the bar and the kind person who helped my daughter who got stuck in the toilet cubicle because the lock wasn't easy to open - to some who could barely smile at you. Our room was spacious but noisy in different ways. The door squeaked very loudly when opening and closing and didn't actually shut properly with the mechanism, so we weren't actually securely shut in a couple of times before we realised. The aircon sounded like a plane taking off, even on low, so it was impossible to sleep with it on which inevitably made for a hot and stuffy room at night as the windows didn't open. At night you were also disturbed by creaking or scraping outside - maybe the lift mechanism as we were so close to them? All in all, not a great night's sleep. The breakfast buffet did the job but it's pretty basic and you're essentially in a loud and echoey lobby which feels like an airport. I'd definitely choose to go eat in a lovely local cafe for breakfast next time. Overall, it was a functional but forgettable experience and this place is due a refurbishment. Nearby activities: Great for the science centre and Hydro. Safety: Bedroom door didn't close automatically so not very secure until you notice and have to force it shut. Walkability: Totally walkable to some great museums, cafes etc during the day but not advisable at night - security staff at a nearby venue advised against it.
This purports to by a higher rated hotel but it isn't. Just not enough care over maintenance. Air condition fan way too loud even on lowest speed. Air conditioning is not actually air conditioning it transpires. Air is passed over water and is so inefficient. Broken bulbs. Staff were pretty good especially in the bar. However a cushion mysteriously disappeared when the room was serviced. When we asked for its return a pillow was delivered. There was also difficulty establishing the difference between a fridge and a freezer - on more than one occasion. Pros: The full English buffet breakfast included in the price. The room fridge which was very efficient. Overall grossly overpriced for what it is.
This is a great hotel. As it was booked under platinum membership we were offered a suite and access to the club lounge. Both of which were fantastic. Great venue next door to stadium so perfect for music gig. What made it so fantastic was the service, particular note to Mohammad on reception who is so genuinely warm and welcoming and an absolute assist to the hotel. The other staff member, and I apologise as I don't remember their name, was who worked in the club lounge on the Saturday night 11.05.24 again so warm and welcoming. It is staff such as this that made our stay so enjoyable.
Recently stayed for business, great room with a comfortable bed, the hotel staff were very helpful, professional & friendly. The lifts were a little slow but the hotel has a great bar... Glasgow Central just minutes away by Uber under £10...Rooms: 5/5
Fantastic! The checkin staff are so friendly. The hotel has a lovely vibe and is spotless. The breakfast was varied, tasty and not mass produced what im trying to say is quality over quantity but still a wide range of options. The bed was VERY comfortable. Spent two hours im the pool - also a very positive experience. Good parking - think it was £10 per night which I think is wrong and paying guests shouldnt have to pay its not manned, no barrier but this seems to be a common charge. This was our second stay this year. I will stay again. Walkability: You can walk to town in about 20 minutes. Lovely city walks locally with lots to see. Walk to station is 5-10 minutes. It can be dark but have stayed several times over the years and never had a bother walking to/from nights out at all times.
