Wonderful location next to the park. The service was stand out. I never got the gentleman's name who took care of my during my three days, but he was amazing. Friendly, helpful, cooked me specialty breakfast I'm vegetarian with a dairy allergy. He got me special milk and eggs. Just a lovely man. The room was small, but it was all I needed as a single traveler. Shower was awesome. The walls were thin, I could hear other people talking in their rooms, but the neighborhood was quiet. Highly recommend. Nearby activities: I loved having the Kelvingrove park area nearby. I walked it every day. Also near a lot of restaurants, but far enough away it was quiet.
Really great small hotel near the West end & UoG. Kevin on reception & in the kitchen for breakfast is fantastic. Always pleasant, always gives us a warm welcome & nothing is too much trouble. The rooms & beds are comfortable & the breakfast, cooked by Kevin, really set you up for the day. We love staying here when we come to Glasgow, & look forward to our next visit.
We had an absolutely phenomenal stay here. It has everything you want out of a hotel: great location within walking distance of Kelvingrove as well as rail and buses to get to places more out of reach; quiet and spacious rooms with nice views, comfortable beds, and blackout curtains very important if you're staying during the summer when it's ony dark for about 6 hours; delicious breakfast, continental and cooked. But what really set it apart was the incredible service. One of the managers Kevin went above and beyond in every way. He gave us suggestions and helped us navigate our future travels to Edinburgh. At breakfast which he personally cooked he made the atmosphere so warm and social. And he was just a delight to talk to and get to know. It's those personal touches that go a long way. You won't just have a good night's sleep or a great breakfast here - you'll make friends and memories.
Really nice hotel but no lift so bags need to be carried upstairs. Room was very nice but a little small. It had good facilities including a ghd hair straightener which I'd never seen in a hotel before. The bathroom was small but adequate but the door to the bathroom had a closing mechanism that made it hard to open and noisy. It's located in a very nice area but parking is an issue during the week but there is a secure car park about 10 mins away. Would definitely stay there again.
This is an EXCELLENT hotel for the money you pay. Super clean, the beds are extremely comfortable and they offer you hot chocolate sachets in your room as well as the standard teas and coffees. Room was warm and the hotel was kept nice and clean. Honestly for the price you really cannot go wrong. Staff were lovely as well. I will certainly be staying again if and when I need to. The hotel isn't far from the city centre. You can walk it for 25 minutes or so to Glasgow Queen Street station or catch the number 3 bus which takes less than 10 minutes. And if you love Indian food, there is a fabulous family owned Indian restaurant right across from.the hotel. I'm so very happy I found this little gem.
The hotel service was very helpful and kind. Breakfasts are realy good and keep you full for a long time. Rooms are nice, I would say you have more space than in other hotels I've visited. The only drawback is that at least my room didn't have a fridge but it wasn't a big problem because I didn't have the need for one.Rooms: 4/5
Great hotel, perfectly placed and easy access to lots of sightseeing places. The room great size, temperature and bed comfy so a great night sleep. Breakfast was excellent. Allan did signpost us to a few places to eat that we will definitely try next time. Walking distance to the OVO hydro so perfectRooms: 5/5
We had the pleasure of staying at the Acorn Hotel recently. Located across from Kelvingrove Park, the hotel finds itself within a short walk of many nice cafes and restaurants. It was very quiet at night, which I imagine is hard to find in any hotel in the downtown. It was easy to access the city center via a short walk or bus trip, and the staff was lovely and helpful as well. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Glasgow. Nearby activities: There's the Kelvingrove Park and gallery within a short walk. Walkability: A 10-15 minute walk to the busier streets in the West End, and a 20 minute walk from Buchanan Bus Station and the city center.
Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Great location on the West End with short walks to restaurants and bars in the Finnieston area of Glasgow. Getting to most rooms required hauling luggage up a long flight of stairs typical of Scotish hotels I guess. My single room was small but comfortable. Price was very fair and I would stay here again.
We had a great stay at this hotel when attending a concert at the SEC. The location is perfect, very close to many restaurants and bars plus the park and Kelvingrove museum. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Friendly and helpful service, and delicious freshly cooked breakfast. We will definitely book again next time we visit the area.
