This hotel has very low value for money - look for another place if available. The hotel is massive over 1000 rooms and very badly kept. Many in reviews are pleased with the view but only some 10 % get the Tower Bridge view. It takes a long time to get in your room as there are only 4 elevators for these 2000plus people. Another 10 minutes you wander the smelly, worn-out isles to your room. Room doors have holes and have been drilled open several times. Toilet does not flush properly and tiles are loose and some missing. Rooms are freezing cold, but they still keep the air conditioning on cold and provide single tiny radiators instead. Eco is not a value here - after cleaning all lights are left on for the entire day. They have nice looking restaurants in the building, but the breakfast room is one from the 80s. I am happy I did not have to pay for myself but I am sad for my company to have wasted their money.nnThe location is fine for Thames & Tower and the staff is decent, and bonus for having enough hot water - that was definately a positive surprise.
Rooms are tired. Really need modernising. Beds were comfortable but pillows like bricks. Television did not work when i tried to charge my phone. No electric sockets by the bed, so only option is to use socket beside the t.v. Bathroom needs updating.nStaff were pleasant. Concierge service were very helpful.nLovely location .
Celebrated my mums 81 birthday on 8.12.25 at Tower Hotel Vicinity restaurant. Fantastic location right beside Tower Bridge. Food was exquisite. Compliments to the chef Alex. Our waitress was Albina was friendly and attentive. The whole ambience in the reception and restaurant was so welcoming. Would definately not wait for another special occassion before returning again. Will highly recommend
The hotel was in the most fantastic location right next to Tower Bridge, which gave us access to so many sites of London. From our room we overlooked St Katherine’s Dock which was really pretty with its Christmas lights. All the yatch owners had participated too, with Christmas lights on their boats, which added to the beautiful picture. The dock had some lovely restaurants and The Dickens Inn pub was brilliant, so nice to have a drink at none hotel prices right on your doorstep and a great atmosphere. The hotel restaurant was nice I believe it was called the Vicinity, food choice was good and on par with what you would expect in London but I thought the wine was overpriced. The Hotel was nice with a good atmosphere and felt welcoming. Our room was a good size warm and comfortable and clean. However, our toilet seat was hanging off and our toilet was blocked with someone else’s excrement which was not nice. I’m not sure how this slipped through before issuing the room but they obviously need to review communications between cleaning services and maintenance. Also the shower valve didn’t work properly and clearly needs a new shower cartridge. We also had a problem with our bed as the under sheets kept unraveling off and the mattress’s were slightly different heights. Mind you the bed was big and spacious, it sometimes felt my wife was on the other side of the world. After a little bit of pressure on the hotel reception we were able to get a maintenance man to fix the toilet problems, he was a very nice man. The breakfast was buffet and what you would expect, nothing out of the ordinary, but very busy, in fact the hotel was heaving with guests so that’s a good sign. If our room had been presented and maintained better we would have given a 5 star as its location is fab. It is a nice hotel but just needs to put those finishing and important touches in, and work on communication between departments. All in all we had a great trip and would stay at this hotel again as it’s in a fantastic part of London.
Here’s a polished and helpful review for your reference:nn The Tower Hotel, by Thistle – Honest Reviewnn Location:nThe Tower Hotel, by Thistle is in an excellent spot right by St Katharine’s Dock and Tower Bridge — perfect for sightseeing, walking along the Thames, and quick access to transport around London. Most guests mention the views and location as the hotel’s best feature.nn Rooms & ComfortnnPositive:n Spacious beds and generally comfortable sleeping arrangements.n Great views of Tower Bridge and the Thames from many rooms.nnNegative:n Many newer reviews say the rooms feel dated and in need of renovation. The décor and furniture can look old, and some guests felt the value wasn’t great for the price.n Some rooms have maintenance issues e.g., worn carpet, old bathroom fittings.nnOverall: Comfortable for a short stay, but not as modern or luxurious as some other central London hotels.nn Cleanliness & ServicennCleanliness:n Many guests find the rooms and public areas generally clean.n A few reported specific issues like stains or dated bathroom fixtures.nnService:n Many travellers praise friendly and helpful staff.n Some guests experienced slow or inconsistent service at reception or during busy times.nn Food & FacilitiesnnBreakfast and dining get mixed feedback — some like it, others find the price high for what you get.nnThere are bars and restaurants with views, which many visitors enjoy.nn Value for Moneynn Overall review scores e.g., ~8.2/10 on Agoda show that many guests feel it’s a good hotel overall, but some say it’s a bit overpriced given the room condition.n A few reviews recommend it mainly for the location and views, not for luxury.nn Summary – Should You Stay Here?nn Great if you want:nnAmazing views of Tower Bridge and the Thames.nnA convenient base to explore London on foot or by public transport.nnFriendly staff and generally clean rooms.nn Might reconsider if you want:nnModern, newly renovated rooms.nnA quieter, more luxurious hotel experience.nnPerfect service and a high-end breakfast included.nn Overall Impression:nn Lovely location and views, solid comfort, but rooms and some facilities could use updating. Great for sightseeing stays — maybe less ideal for a luxury-focused hotel experience.nnIf you want, I can also suggest better hotel alternatives nearby at a similar price!
