The hotel is absolutely fantastic, the staff were friendly and very accommodating! Rooms were spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated. The spa, although small, is very well equipped and laid out extremely well. We had an evening meal, drinks and breakfast at the hotel and I would class the experience as, relaxing, attentive and some of the best food I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. I will be returning again very soon.

Lovely indoors but outside needs some TLC. The staff were excellent and my back massage was 5*. We were shown into the spa but not told what to do and it's so dark you can't read the signs. Jacuzzi didn't work and buttons missing to turn it on plus no signage to explain. I did mention it to I think a grounds man who answered with don't blame me and an explanation on how it worked! Robes for the day guests have seen better days. Cake and prosecco which were in our deal were lovely but I'm glad I wasn't hungry, my choice would have been a burger served with a couple of French fries for. . . .£18!!!. Eat elsewhere, there's loads of nice pubs/cafes etc near by.

The facility's were excellent but the massage I had was not good. I asked for I relaxing massage and got the brutality one I have ever had and was in pain for days later . A relaxing massage should one you can drift off to not be wishing it was over 5mins into it. Maybe need to do more training .

Called in for lunch in the lounge bar while visiting Helmsley. The menu is small but the food is very nice although if is on the expensive side. The lounge is a cosy pleasant place to sit andbthe staff were all very good if a little formal for my liking but that's a personal preference. Had a little wander around the building and the spa including the outdoor pool area looked lovely with steam rising from the pool on a cold rainy day. Looked very inviting!

Stayed over night at the hotel and visited the restaurant and spa. The hotel is really nice with large rooms which are very clean and well presented, as you would expect. The restaurant is very good but small so bookings are recommended. We had the tasting menu which was good and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Again the spa is small but has everything you need, even an outdoor (heated) pool if you are feeling brave.
