At Harrogate's Turkish Baths & Health Spa, amidst surroundings that are pure Victorian you'll enjoy a unique experience enhanced by friendly, yet unobtrusive, attention.

Although Turkish Baths were common in victorian times, only seven remain which date back to the 19th century. None are as historically complete and in full working order as harrogate's Turkish Baths: their importance lies in their decoration, elaboration and rarity. The Baths Moorish design with great Islamic arches and screens, walls of vibrant glazed brickwork, the arabesque painted ceilings and terrazzo floors all add to its historic fantasy qualities......

Amazing experience and so relaxed. Would highly recommend for anyone around the area. It is small but not crowded or fighting for room. Everyone is super friendly and it is mostly quiet. You can stay as long as you like really but they suggest max 2hrs and I think you'll end up leaving around that time anyway. It comprises of a steam room, a relaxing room, a tiered warm room 3 rooms with different temperatures and a cold pool. The cold pool is perfect. Thank you to all the staff who made it so relaxing and fun.
A wonderful visit with my sister and aunt. A beautiful building, with original features. A very relaxing experience with friendly helpful staff. Very clean.
We booked it on a whim because the hotel spa was broken. Delighted we did.nnIt's old, Victorian and basic, which is fantastic because it's retained all its charm and character.nnIf you want all-singing all-dancing pizzazz, don't go. If you want history, architecture, charm and basic but interesting and historic facilities, it's brilliant.nnThat said, it also has modern treatment rooms and we both had a head, neck and back massage.nnShout out to Adriana and Andrew our therapists, very nice and good at what they did. And Pedro, who welcomed us and showed us around.nnHighly recommended and we would go back.
Things that were great:n- Staff were very friendly on the wholen- Changing rooms and Quiet room design brought the lovely Victorian spa vibe to lifen- Massage was really goodn- Great coffeen- Nice clean towelsnnThings to improve on in my opinion:n- There was a cheap plastic air fragrance in a corner of the medium warm room, which doesnt make it very appealing.n- Brickwork and grouting looked unclean in heated areas.n- The quiet and warm rooms smelled of skin/unclean, with the window ropes showed visible dust gathered.n- The steam room was often full up, which is a bit small for the number of people there.n- The menu and food was not of a luxury standard I was expecting with the cost. Also the chairs in the dining area were uncomfortable.n- For the money spent I was expecting more of a Turkish baths/Victorian spa experience. Would like to see more of the Turkish bath theme they have, especially in the decor in the main lounge, menu, music etc.n- The heated rooms weren't hot enoughn- Cold pool wasn't that coldn- Some of the staff were more industrious in their duties at times, which didn't make it feel as relaxed.n- Lighting could be used better to make it a more sensual experience.n- Laminated signs could be more in keeping with the Turkish bath brand, rather than a council branded building.n- Toilets could be more connected with the Victorian bath brand.nnI was a bit annoyed with paying for this and being let down.
We had a lovely few hours here yesterday. Great value for money at £27 for two hours.nnThe baths are so ornate there are lots of historical features.nImmaculately clean, amazing service.
