At Harrogate's Turkish Baths & Health Spa, amidst surroundings that are pure Victorian you'll enjoy a unique experience enhanced by friendly, yet unobtrusive, attention.

Although Turkish Baths were common in victorian times, only seven remain which date back to the 19th century. None are as historically complete and in full working order as harrogate's Turkish Baths: their importance lies in their decoration, elaboration and rarity. The Baths Moorish design with great Islamic arches and screens, walls of vibrant glazed brickwork, the arabesque painted ceilings and terrazzo floors all add to its historic fantasy qualities......

Genuinely lovely experience that left all of us incredibly relaxed.nnI was a bit worried that there wouldn't be enough to do for the 2 hours of the baths session but with a graduated increase in heat with frequent plunges in the pool and lots of chat, the time flew by!nnThe Victorian architecture is awe inspiring and the fact that so many of the features are original provides a direct link with those that came to try the healing waters generations before us.nnWe didn't try any treatments but would definitely give those a go when we come back!
My friend & I visiting Harrogate for a catch up weekend, felt the renovated Victorian Turkish Baths would be a good place to spend time give the cites wellness history.nnI’m not massively into sauna heat and on the Saturday there was fairly full capacity.. it’s not very clear what to do and I guess the staff have to explain many times a day, hence the very quick hurried explanation .. only each guest is hearing it for the first time maybe?nnUnfortunately many people, groups of woman especially do talk loudly… the enclosed small stream room was very much a case in point ..the etiquette is generally no talking or very soft voices.nnHowever the plunge pool, very cold after the heat does the shock job it’s there to do! Showers are ok after the heat element and cold plunges.nnThe tiles and look is attractive. But it was a one off experience for me. Had it got a pool for a more relaxing soak or pool with water jets like many German health Baths it would offer more in the 2hrs to do.nnWe did elect to have treatments. I had a full body aromatherapy massage and then a 30 mins facial. I don’t also have massages & facials treatments generally, so this was somewhat of a treat to self, but I would say my therapist Georgina seemed to really put a lot of energy and care into both treatments and not it seemed simply going through the motions. I would highly recommend Georgina. My friend also had a massage with another therapist and wasn’t quite so pleased.
Went for our first time today and wasn't too sure what to expect but it absolutely blew us away. For £29 you got 2 hours of access to a steam room, 2 hot rooms, a cold plunge pool and a quiet relaxation area with day beds. It's a beautiful building with lovely staff and just all around relaxing time. Would definitely come again and try some treatments next time.
I visited the Turkish Baths in Harrogate today and had such an amazing experience. The whole place was beautiful, relaxing and the staff were absolutely fantastic.nnUnfortunately, there was an accident during our visit where a lady was badly hurt. I was incredibly impressed by how calm, professional and compassionate all of the staff were. They dealt with the situation so quickly and calmly, whilst also making sure everyone else felt safe and at ease.nnA special mention has to go to Louise, who was absolutely brilliant. Her calm and reassuring manner really stood out and made such a difficult situation feel much less frightening for everyone around.nnThe professionalism and care shown by the whole team was exceptional, especially in what was clearly a very stressful situation.nnI would 100% recommend the Turkish Baths and will definitely be returning. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit such a wonderful experience, and for handling a difficult situation with such professionalism and kindness.
Visited with a friend for a relaxing afternoon. It wasn't busy about 10 people total and we could go at our own pace. The Baths are beautiful and we would definitely go back.
