If you are the kind of person whose priority in a hotel is a clean, comfortable, cheap place to sleep this is it. In a lifetime of stays like this, Central Hotel is near the top. The staff are friendly, helpful and also not in your way. The rooms are not only clean and well-equipped but thoughtfully designed to make the most of the small space. The price is close to rock-bottom for central London. And the location is both super convenient and not very noisy. Highly recommended!
This hotel is exactly as advertised--a budget hotel with the necessary amenities and convenient location. The staff were fantastic! Friendly, helpful, and professional. They helped me take my large, book-filled suitcase to my room on the top floor. There is also a dog, Chanel, who is very sweet and adorable and will say hello to you in the lobby! If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with basic amenities and a good location near the British Library, King's Cross, etc. then Central Hotel is fantastic. The room was clean, the shared bathroom was also kept very clean, and I had everything I needed. There is no elevator--this hotel is in two older walk-ups, so if you have a room on the top floor be prepared to hoof it!
Stayed here at Christmas for a couple of nights. The star of the stay was the location...lots of restaurants and very, very close to St. Pancras station. It's an older building and I really appreciated the videos they put together you can view them online to set expectations. Witty, accurate and helpful. We did have a couple of early morning fire alarms that had us out of bed and on the street while things were checked out. This could happen anywhere but we would have appreciated a bit more communication from the staff about what to do and what was going on. Rooms: Rooms are dated and small, but clean.
We loved our 3 nights stay. The staff of this hotel is lovely, Wilson and his Maltese colleague we never asked for his name where so friendly and helpful that they made us feel home. The rooms are a bit small, but other than that, they are perfect for a short stay, they have all one needs and are perfectly clean. Room service is also impeccable. Thanks !
No frills hotel for two travelers. Since we will be taking the Eurostar to Rotterdam, this hotel is the perfect to stay just 5 minutes away from the St Pancras Intl Train Station and the St Pancras Station with many connections to various tube lines. The hotel is nestled in a bustling neighborhood with many options for meals. Wilson at the reception desk was friendly and got us in our room earlier that promised. Our small room is on the ground floor with a small bathroom/shower. For a budget hotel, the room provides more than adequate the number of electrical outlets! Safety: Busy and safe area. Walkability: near train and tube station and bus lines.
Narrow halls and stairs made getting luggage through very hard. Laundry bags on floor too. Small clean room. Double bed smaller than normal. Tiny bathroom hard to dry off in. Noisy could hear singing for an hour.Rooms: 3/5
Absolutely best location with easy access to Kings Cross and St Pancras stations 150m Rooms were very small, but we knew this when we booked and still great value for money when you consider the location. Within walking distance to Buckingham Palace 2.5 miles Special mention to staff member Wilson who carried heavy suitcases upstairs to our room.
Friendly staff, excellent location but noisy. I didn’t mind the rumble of the underground trains you hear it in the basement rooms and it is to be expected so close to King’s Cross but I was woken at 0400 by someone walking around in the room above and it was unbelievably loud. A shame because otherwise this is a good option for an early morning departure from the station, but I slept very badly.
This was my 2nd stay and I have 2 more booked, good price, all necessary basics and amazing location. Can get here from anywhere in London and can travel from here to anywhere in world. Staircase is not for everyone and you need to watch your step, but rooms are clean and receptionist is always very kind and helpful Safety: As a solo female traveler I feel safe staying here Food & drinks: Burger King next door open till 10:30, M&S and many other in station across road
I have stayed here countless times over the years probably 10+ if I really think about it and it continues to be my first check for a London hotel. I'm usually a lone female traveler and absolutely feel safe here. Staff are so friendly and helpful and remember me year after year, rooms are small, clean and have all amenities. There's a bag check, super close to Kings Cross Station and the underground, with shops, bakeries and pubs nearby. I came home two days ago and already booked my stay for next year. Thanks guys!
