Had a lovely stay while in London for work. Great location, nice room, and thoughtful service. I would book again. I was initially put in one of the theme rooms, which was a bit kitsch for my tastes, so asked for one of the more simply designed rooms. I was moved to room 203, which still had a cool but more toned down design, was spacious and comfortable, and had large windows overlooking St Pancras. There was some street noise, but nothing I wouldn’t expect in a city hotel. Service was also thoughtful. When I checked out and forgot a few items in the room safe, the staff put them together for me in a package and had them ready at the desk for pickup.
Highly recommend The Megaro if you need to stay near Kings Cross St Pancreas. It is right across the street! Large, modern, clean rooms with all the necessities. Although there’s construction going on right next door. We didn’t hear a thing and our room overlooked the site.! Would definitely stay again!Rooms: 4/5
Stayed at the Megaro last night and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and even added a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to our room for a birthday celebration. The Junior Suite was amazing with views of St Pancras - very spacious and comfortable. Location couldn't be any better too - directly opposite Kings Cross station. Will definitely stay again and can't recommend highly enough.
Incredible location, which is only minutes from the underground and/or other rail. It can be slightly noisy especially at night with sirens and music. We had a larger corner room and that was light and had great views. the bathroom is nice and there is basic free snacks. Service was friendly but our room was not serviced one day. The hotel cocktail bar is also fun and breakfast was ok.
I stayed one night at the hotel, and hotel charged me 3 nights and I was told it's their policy. Please read all the reviews under 3 stars before you book this hotel, from my experience, these reviews are true, I am regretted I didn't read bad reviews carefully. The hotel has big problem about sanitary, bed sheet made me itchy for a few days, and due to the location near King's cross railway station, it was still very noisy until 2am the night I stayed, I only slept 3 hours the whole night. And bathroom has drainage issues, water didn't go down, just 3 mins shower, water flooded almost the whole bathroom. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. I would say this is about 2 stars hotel instead of 5 stars hotel. I have a feeling staff were self aware about clients complains and the issues this hotel had, they were trying to get around the issues or apologies to clients. I felt really bad to quite my stay, not only I lost $700, but also I could feel they wanted clients to stay hardly. Dining not good either, very overpriced.
Book the junior suite for us and our teen children. We normally stay at the Standard Hotel next door, but we absolutely LOVE the Spagnoletti restaurant so wanted to stay here. The suite was nothing like on the pictures. Very small, basic, spars, with uncomfortable single beds for our teenagers. The bar and ‘treats’ are pretty disappointing. Would prefer to pay extra for a normal selection of a hotel mini bar. The bathroom was outdated, with yellow stained bath, dirty tile grouting, old peeling vanity unit and glass doors!!! Had windows into the main road so very noisy. Not soundproofed. Not what we paid for. Next time we will stay in Standard and come for Spagnoletti restaurant for dinner only. Walkability: Opposite Eurostar
Never been inside to be honest and I’m only rating the architecture and art of the building exterior and location. Since it’s a hotel I believe it’s a great location near lots of bus stops and train stations also the king cross area full of shops, restaurants, cafes, markets and more so I recommend the area and the location. As for the architecture I believe it’s very artistic what they did with the exterior it makes it stands out from the rest of the buildings in London and the buildings surrounded by
I don’t think this should be called a 5 star hotel. It wasn’t up to the standard. We stayed in the MEGARO SUITE, which is certainly their high end and most expensive rooms. Pros - unique look. I like the concept of the hotel. That’s what drew me there in the first place. - large comfy bed - I liked the complementary snacks & drinks, robe and tooth brushes Cons - the suite we stayed in is actually very small in comparison to what is advertised and paid for. It’s basically a large room/studio. It’s quite possible that we got the smallest one, or that’s what it looked like from the floor plan provided in the room. - concierge service is poor. I tried using it twice and gave up eventually. My major problem is no attempt to help you sort out your issues. Considering this is a “5 star” hotel, I expected more. - can’t watch YouTube or use streaming services on TV. I asked Concerige service about this but she basically said it was what it is in all the rooms. Even though I could see some TVs on the Wi-Fi with this capability. An obvious lie. - The pamphlet said we could request a blue tooth speaker. I contacted the concerige about this but was told this is not something they usually do. - AC doesn’t work properly. We suffered in the middle of the night sweating. Windows don’t open so you are at the mercy of the AC. - No balcony or terrace as advertised In summary, I feel this hotel’s administrators are probably comfortable. Hence the treatment. Being in a very busy part of London means they will always get business. So it is what it is. We live and learn. I don’t think I will be back but we got some good memories. Rooms: The suite I stayed in is actually very small in comparison to what is advertised and paid for. It’s basically a big room/studio. It’s quite possible that we got the smallest suite. Noteworthy details: If you want something different in look then go there. If you want good Concerige services or experience it’s not the place for you.
Fantastic hotel, room had just been redecorated and super clean. Breakfast is served at your table. Metro and train are on your doorstep, allowing you to explore all of London. Highly recommended and we will definitely go again. Walkability: Public transport within walking distance
My partner and I booked one of the Megaro Suites Pop Diva Suites for our anniversary due to looking for something large and a bit quirky. We saved up and spent rather a lot for a two night stay and were expecting something special for the price. The stay was decent however the room we were given was unexpectedly small considering the pictures online for these rooms are mostly from the larger rooms - overpromising in some cases. It was also a very dark room once again, not like the photos online with a pretty poor view out of the window. We spoke to 3 separate people about it and were fobbed off each time. If you're booking one of these suites we'd recommend checking the room you've been allocated early and cancelling if it's one of the smaller ones, since they're currently all offered at the same rate or be prepared for a lucky dip!. Have attached a floor plan so you can see the size differences. We were in 607 the corner room which is clearly the smallest and half the size of 606. Walkability: A great location for those using St Pancras International station or Kings Cross tube Food & drinks: Unfortunately didn't get to try the restaurants. Attempted to visit the cocktail bar but it's closed on Sundays and Mondays.
