This was my fourth stay at the Montana. While room decor is dated, and rooms vary in size, the location is perfect, across the street from a tube station, and within walking distance of museums, Hyde Park, and Kensington Palace. The continental breakfast is fine, the staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms are cleaned daily, and the shower is excellent. All this at a great price.
Spotlessly clean , old style rooms Old style house , steps were not a problem for us but could be for some. Ask for ground floor rooms. Friendly polite staff Very good breakfast. Very central. A stones throw from Gloucester Road Tube in Kensington Perfect location for a weekend away. Reasonable rates. Nearby activities: Concerts Walks History Cultural activities all in the area. Walkability: Hyde Park close by Tubes close by Royal Albert hall and museums about 10 mins walk. Plenty of cafes and restaurants.
We were allocated a family room even though we booked a double. The room was a basement room and very hot and stuffy. Also smelled like a drain. Once we ran the air conditioner all was good and the smell dissipated. The bathroom is very small, but this common in the UK. The spaciousness of the room made up for any shortcomings. The room was extremely quiet. We did not hear any traffic noise when we were in the room, which was a pleasant surprise considering the hotel is on busy Gloucester Rd. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent location, a couple of minutes walk to Gloucester Rd tube station and quite a few restaurants nearby. I would stay here again.
I chose this hotel for its location and I wasn't disappointed. Just a 30 second walk from Gloucester Road tube and 5 minutes to the museums and High Street Kensington. This makes a fantastic base for exploring London. The hotel is beautiful from the outside and spotless inside with great staff. It's a little dated so don't expect an all modern interior but for the price it's excellent. It would cost double with a brand new refurbishment so take advantage of the good value now. We had a huge twin room with two singles and one double bed and it had air conditioning which was a bonus on the warm weekend. For the location and value alone I would stay here again.
Single bedroom with shared bathroom, but I noticed later I had a sink and a nice mirror in the bedroom too. I really like the design of the hotel. Its like classical royal indian style. Its really a clean hotel and everything is perfect. Location is also amazing.Rooms: 5/5
Lovely hotel. All staff are welcoming, helpful, pleasant and professional. The rooms are comfortable and adequate for our needs. The location is brilliant for museums and the tube station is close by. The continental breakfast is plentiful but slightly limited in choice. I would recommend the Indian restaurant adjoining the hotel.Overall a good hotel and would definitely go back. Thank you
First let me start with the positive. The hotel was in a great location and the staff was very helpful. However, the hotel needs some serious updating. The elevator was tiny. My husband wouldn’t step foot in it and I was petrified each time I got on. The room was also so tiny and very worn looking. The air conditioning didn’t work and you couldn’t open the one window. It was hot and claustrophobic in there. If you don’t mind the negatives, then stay. I personally would definitely not stay there again.
The staff was incredible, always acknowledged us when we came or left. The breakfast was great, we didn't understand that it was included one day and not the next so that was confusing but that's no problem, we still enjoyed it. The location is perfect, right by the tube! The Indian cuisine at night was delicious. They graciously held our luggage when we got in at 9am. Overall, 10 out of 10, would stay here again!
Old world English charm, with lots of attentive care. I would like to thank Shashi, for his professional, attentive care to our small group. You made us all feel comfortable! Rooms are a bit dated but are clean & comfortable beds. Continental breakfast is wonderful, with attentive servers! Gloucester Road Tube stop, across the street..this is a great location! Thanks, again Montana!
Our "Go to Hotel" You are being treated like Royalty. Everybody is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. The rooms are clean . Plenty of hot water. Very clean .We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. Make sure to eat dinner at the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel. Thank you to all the staff that made our visit enjoyable
