Fantastic hotel experience, superbly located in central London and only a short walk or tube ride from the main attractions. Nothing is too much or too little trouble for the staff who are very attentive to every possible need. Prosecco was served upon arrival and again upon checkout and the staff was only too happy to oblige with booking us a taxi, providing additional amenities for the room and helping us with our luggage both upon arrival and storing after check out. Would definitely recommend the hotel as an oasis of calm and an experience in it's own right - events held at the hotel did not detract from the warm, quiet and comfortable rooms. For an experience like no other, I would certainly recommend a stay at the St Pancras renaissance hotel, which also has an excellent spa. Rooms: Comfortable, clean, quiet and private.
A lovely old building in an excellent location. The hotel staff are friendly and efficient and very helpful if needed. The rooms are spacious and clean although they're probably getting ready for a revamp as the decor and corridor carpet etc. are starting to look a little tired. We had breakfast in the old Booking Office bar/restaurant which was excellent and included with our room tariff. We will be back.
We came here for afternoon tea and it was lovely. The restaurant is very beautiful and the tea was generous with free top ups and friendly staff. There was a harpist playing during our visit which really added to the ca atmosphere, and of course the food was delicious. We hope to come back some day to try out your spa!Service: 5/5
If I could say 6 stars I would! I chose the Renaissance Hotel as a surprise stay to my husband-to-be the night before our Civil wedding as it is such a special hotel and so conveniently located to get anywhere to and from London. The service was impeccable! Dearest guest relations, Irene, went over and above to not only accommodate us but make our stay extra special! Nothing was too much. The breakfast was well stocked and had such an assortment of things for all tastes! The spa felt like a gorgeous 'secret', super magical and such a bonus to our overnight stay. Thank you Irene and the team for everything! You were such a dream! Don't wait, book book book, you won't be disappointed! Rooms: Beautiful view, comfy bed, lots of room, spotless! Walkability: So convenient to tonnes of public transport routes at Kings Cross Station and Euston as well as buses into central London just outside Food & drinks: We only had breakfast there but a delicious variety of food on offer - continental and traditional English as well as such a variety of milks, fresh teas and cereals.
Our stay at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel was deeply disappointing and far below the standard expected for a hotel of this supposed caliber—especially considering the exorbitant price. Upon arrival, we were mistakenly checked into an occupied room, resulting in the appalling experience of walking in on a naked guest. This is an unacceptable mistake for any hotel, let alone one that charges premium rates and advertises itself as a luxury destination. The situation was handled poorly from the outset. Although the staff offered a room upgrade, they assured us the minibar and snacks would be fully comped due to the egregious check-in error. However, this commitment was immediately rescinded after we had already indulged, leading to confusing and frustrating back-and-forth discussions with hotel management. What should have been a simple resolution dragged on for weeks, with multiple unresponsive emails and phone calls, all over a 157 GBP charge that should never have been applied in the first place. Even after finally receiving the refund, I’m left with a sour impression of the entire experience. For a hotel that positions itself as a high-end option, this kind of mismanagement, lack of follow-through, and failure to take responsibility is simply unacceptable. The initial error was bad enough, but the long, drawn-out process of resolving the billing issue only added insult to injury. Given the substantial cost of staying here, I expected far better service and professionalism. Unfortunately, this hotel fell woefully short, and I cannot recommend it to others. If you’re going to charge luxury prices, you need to deliver a luxury experience—not just a beautiful building.
The hotel is gorgeous. This is an amazing building. Our room was nicely appointed. I had a couple of issues. The breakfast service was g-l-a-c-i-a-l. When I am on vacation, I don't want to sit around waiting for my food. The point of having breakfast in the hotel is to eat and then get out to see London. We had to wait and wait. It made no sense as the restaurant was not crowded. They just seemed to take their sweet time. I also had an issue with the doorman. I was carrying a DSLR camera - not taking pictures. The guy approached me and says that I can't take pictures inside with a "professional" camera. First of all, I was not taking pictures. Furthermore, really? I cannot take pictures of the lobby of a hotel where I am spending hundreds of dollars to stay? Quite ridiculous. Other than these issues, the hotel was okay. The location is so-so. Long train ride to where the action is. Update: My spouse complained about the service. They took two beers and a bottle of water off our bill. Interesting choice since we complained about the breakfast and not the drinks. It makes it seem like they are not taking our complaint seriously, as if the only reason we are complaining is to get a discount. Food & drinks: Veeeery slow service at breakfast. Just ridiculous. We paid extra for breakfast. Noteworthy details: Architecture in the lobby and restaurant is gobsmacking.
A beautiful afternoon champagne tea for a client team of 14 people. All dietary requirements were met and the food was so delicious. The Laurent Perrier was flowing and everyone said just how much they enjoyed their experience at The Hansom. Food & drinks: The afternoon tea was just beautiful
This is a beautiful hotel with some amazing architectural features and is worth a visit. However it is expensive for what you get and if you plan on staying check whether there are any functions going on as you may be kept awake by the music. The staff are very attentive but the food at the restaurant is nothing special.Rooms: 4/5
We had a lovely stay! Our room king bed jr.suite was very comfortable with great bedding. The hvac kept the room at a comfortable temperature all night. The shower was hot and strong. We had drinks in both bars and both had good but quite different atmospheres. There is not a lot in the immediate area around st Pancras to see IMO but this is a great hotel if you are traveling through St Pancras or Kings Cross. Rooms: Nice bedding and access. Shower was hot and strong. Nearby activities: Not a ton to see nearby from a touristy standpoint although we did drop into a couple of interesting galleries. Food & drinks: Great drinks in both bars.
Apart from the entry level, everything about our one-night stay in this magnificent building was atrocious. When our male receptionist advised that our requested quiet room was in front of the lifts but that we would "hear nothing" we immediately asked for another room. We were treated with a mocking attitude and were told to see how we felt about that room first. Following this advice, we found immediately that we could her every noise from the lift area as people gathered and waited for the lift. We duly requested another room and were kept waiting in the foyer for two hours during which time we were offered one glass of water each. We also had to remind staff of the time we had been waiting before finally a female receptionist organised a room. After the "glitz" of the ground floor lounge/dining area, the room itself was comfortable but there was only minimal provision for any hot drink preparation - we even had to make a special request to room service for milk. We'd had a long day of travel and were due to leave the next day. We feel we were treated exceedingly badly. After eight weeks staying in self-catering accommodations which were all beautifully hosted, each week costing roughly the same as one night at the Renaissance, this was supposed to be our celebration at the end of a long tour. We were and still are appalled at what is essentially a facade. Noteworthy details: The building itself is fantastic. The staff are well-presented.
