While making reservations for a 2 weeks trip to the UK, which included a couple of days in London, my husband and I found ourselves on Booking.com wildly looking for hotels. We needed to book fast and in different cities as the departure date was in 3 weeks. London was all booked and we didn't have much options, considering we needed to stay in a certain area and didn't want to spend more than 100 pounds/night... So we decided to sacrifice comfort in order to get the right location while staying on a budget. Bad choice. Don't repeat our mistake. Maybe good for students or people wanting to club in the city center and then crash somewhere. Not for us, a 30+ yo couple. Not comfortable at all, really poorly equipped, very very old everything. One thing I should say - cleanliness was more than acceptable. God bless the cleaning lady, the only reason why I didn't run away.
Cheap, rooms are tiny, location is 10/10 - everything you need for a quick vacation in London. The rooms are absolutely miniscule, the sound isolation is horrendous and it's so dusty and not very clean, but this is LITERALLY EVERYWHERE IN LONDON unless you pay 5 times this price. Perfect for short stay Rooms: Tiny, but if you're using the room only for sleep, doesn't really matter Walkability: Massive staircase, didn't see an elevator
Everything I needed and better than I expected at this low price. The room had a fridge, kettle, and free coffee and tea. The shower was small but worked well. The bed was comfy and clean. This is an old building with quirky hallways and stairs and wouldn't work well for someone with mobility issues. It's great if you're looking for a budget hotel in this neighborhood close to the train, just don't expect it to be the same as places that are double and triple the price.
Bare no frills rooms located across Kings Cross St Pancras. The room i got had a tiny single bed, a tiny ref, and a table miraculously crammed together with drawers and a cabinet. The attached shower and toilet was cramped, but water was hot and good. Wifi was great. The place has no lift and the stairs are very small and rickety. Carrying luggage to the top floor 3rd for the British and 4th for others is a challenge. Especially with the creaking floors. No AC, but the weather was cold enough to be comfortable. Because the window was kept open, however, you hear all sorts of things happening. The first night, at 2:30 am, I heard two people arguing followed by some knocking the other out - which resulted in ambulance being called. Two nights later, again, at 1:30 am, I heard someone shouting for help. Ignored it until about 10 mins later when there was a row of cop cars flashing outside. So please expect noise and sketchiness in the neighborhood. My room was also next to one being constructed so i got to hear the drills throughout the day. The socket was hidden behind the drawers which i had to move. There was a kettle and coffee.
After my experience at this hotel I would not recommend. The person on the front desk, who said he was the manager has ZERO customer service or interpersonal skills. Prebooked this room about a week before. I was flying in from France and landed to a voice message from hotel. The person said . ..Card declined, phone us in 10 minutes or room is canceled! I rang them when I landed as soon as I heard the message. I was told room was already cancelled. I said I'd informed the hotel it was going to be a late check in and I was flying so didn't get the mesage and said I would give him the card details right then. He asked where I was and basically told me to hurry up and he would hold the room. I got there as quickly as I could and the man then told me that the room would now be £15 more than I had booked!! I know it's not a huge amount more but it was them who cancelled, not me. I said I wouldn't pay that and he got quite hostile with me, saying I won't find another hotel. I told him I didn't like being scammed. He was extremely rude, wouldn't let me talk and was very aggressive in his tone, yet accused me of not letting him talk! I was very upset and said I'd rather sleep on the street than give money to this hotel now. I left and booked another hotel. He then rang me about 15 minutes later saying come back the room will be the original price. I told him at this point that it wasn't about the price now it was about his awful attitude.  I had a booking for the next week also which I have cancelled. I told him because he tried to make a quick buck out of me they lost 2 bookings. I do not like being taken for a mug. On the terms of service avoid this place at all costs!! Not once did I get a simple apology for the way I was treated! I cannot comment on what the rooms are like obviously, but if they are anything like the service, well...... Noteworthy details: Awful customer service to avoid!
The rooms are small, but VERY clean. This is a place for the person who just needs to put their luggage down while they explore the city and just comes back to sleep. For that it’s perfect. No bell & whistles. My only small complaint is that there is a park across the street where young people play their music quite loudly until it’s dark. Otherwise I was very happy with this place. Oh, and lovely lovely staff. Very friendly and helpful. Nearby activities: British Museum, Granary square, Covent Garden, Thames River, just to name a few. Walkability: St Pancas station is right down the street and you can get anywhere from there. If you don’t mind walking, there’s LOTS within a 45 minute walk.
If you want a safe, affordable, convenient overnight stay near King's Cross, this is ideal. For 40 pounds I had a double bed, decent WiFi, a small TV, my own shower and toilet, it was quiet and warm, and booked last minute. You get all the essentials without being ripped off for the frills.Rooms: 3/5
Super staff room was clean bed comfortable tv and Wi-Fi great location. I stayed 14 nights would recommend it. The 3 young ladies who work the reception desk are always helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed my stayRooms: 4/5
The young concierge is amazing. Highly recommend we were in a bind with other accommodation falling through this place has helped us out, thank you so much my two younger children will be sleeping safely during our stay. Rooms: 5 beds in one room great to ensure your family feel safe without being spread out. Safety: Better than sleeping on the st with your baby and children Walkability: A few minutes from kings cross station
Hi, everyone. My wife and I went there in July 2024. It was ok, fullfilled what we were looking for. It's near to Kings Cross station. The bedroom was basic but comfortable. In case we come back to London, we would choose it again.Rooms: 5/5
