I do not write reviews but I literally have to come and write this. If I could give minus 1 I would. Food is disgusting and as a Jamaican very very disappointed. Brown stew chicken was no where near brown stew. Chicken was raw! And pink how?! Rice was soggy and mash up like soup. If this food makes me sick I will 100% writing a complaint to head office. Terrible
This is their mac and cheese :/. Definitely, it's not worth the price. It's such a small portion. To me, it looked and tasted like if it was just boiled pasta and cheese on top. It's horrible how the food is not fresh either. They just warm up in the microwave, in the same plastic container you are given.
I've given a 2 as the taste and quality of the food is inconsistent. 3 weeks ago I had curry goat and it was lovely. Although the large portion on that occasion was small and way too much bones. More bones than meat. Another inconsistency depending who serves you. Yesterday had curry goat again and clearly different chef. Too much pepper and not nice flavour. Almost inedible but as I live in S Norwood, too far to return. They really need to sort out portion sizes and taste. It's too hit and miss. I want to like this place but find it hard.
Love the Ital soup,will always make it my first soup choice. The stream fish is well seasoned with good,good flavouring. It comes with the option of "hard food" or rice. A very,very good Caribbean Take away.Food: 3/5
Ordered fried dumpling filled with ackee and saltfish….i might as well have ordered dumpling alone…they drop in the tiniest of ackee and saltfish in the middle, just got the leftover doughy dumpling and that’s it. Need to proportion it properly and serve enough ackee n saltfish with the dumpling.
Only place that ever seem to have peanut porridge available. I enjoyed it but was more milky that most so lacked a bit of flavour. Partner had bananna porridge and liked it. Ordered sprats too. Not the freshest tasting but was still good overall. Hard to find them. Love that soursop fresh juice has non dairy option. Partner ordered sorrel. Both juices enjoyed. Prices do seem a bit steep for what you get. £30 for 2 Medium porridge, 2 fresh juice & 1 sprats portion. Deliveroo obviously take a cut etc but still seems higher than necessary. Haven't tried the rest of the menu to comment although reviews don't seem brilliant. ATM would stick to what I know is OK as a bad experience would put me off ever coming back. Not going to try the rest of menu until reviews improve. 10 years ago food was great but customer service has never been good hence why we order instead of going in.
The food was okay but ordered through deliveroo and paid extra for a large portion size and coleslaw but was served small with no coleslaw. I can understand they don’t really care about customers but it’s a shame that a business practice this kind of dishonesty. Avoid this place if you can !Food: 1/5
Was so pleased when I could order delivery as I normally buy from shop. Food as always is so so good Curried goat is my favourite the meat melts in your mouth, flavours are delicious Best Caribbean food shop would thoroughly recommend
Recommended Foods: Fish tea, Ital red peas soup, Salmon with Rice & peas and Pumpkin, Okra stew. Recommended Drinks: Irish moss without milk, Sorrel & ginger, Soursop juice without milk and Guinness punchFood: 5/5
Food was nice apart from fish soup. Tasted like burnt bottom pot. They should taste first. But everything else was beautifully madeFood: 3/5
