Just came from dining from there, Santoya was hilarious and a great host. I ordered from the "Bax" menu, curry goat, rice and peas which came with a side of cabbage, 2 plantain slices and 2 mini festivals. Food was well seasoned & flavoursome, my mum ordered brown stew chicken and it was nice too. I also ordered a strawberry daiquiri and a rum punch which was to the right taste; not too alcoholic and not too watered down. Overall experience, excellent. Would definitely go back, as well as try their takeaway shop in Thornton Heath.

Raved about this restaurant and went back on sat 5 May for my husband's birthday. The drinks where it is 2 for 1 happy hour it appears that the cocktails were not included although on my first visit it was. My husband ordered the lobster which took ages to come and it was like the first time. Lobster was tiny and the platter has changed. The prawn is now the frozen ones. I am very disappointed that they have not kept up their standards. Go back to using the small Dutch pots to serve the mains and tell staff to have a smile on their face. The first time the young gentlemen there were very attentive and kept on asking if everything was okay. Now we actually had to grab anyone as they walked by. Come on Ritchie it was busy but you will lose out if standards don't improve

Great service friendly and accommodating staff and Amazing cocktail, fruity rum punch was yummy and a sneaky creeper, loved the bogof deal on the cocktails. Food was authentic and tasty. For me the one draw back was the jerk pork in a sauce was a little bit too salty. But I would go again and again if only for the delicious cocktail, and recommend without hesitation

Came here on a Friday night as it was recommended by friends of friends. As expected it was busy but to be fair we only waited about 10 minutes for a table to become available. Some may describe the atmosphere as “vibrant” or “noisy”....unfortunately it was more the latter for us. As the restaurant is located in a basement it did feel very cramped and dark. The drinks we ordered had arrived wrong, in that we specifically ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail as my cousin was pregnant but it was the opposite and the only way to tell was when she had to drink some. Food was mediocre. Did not feel I tasted anything authentic and generally all the food was dry and salty. This was made more disappointing because the price we paid did not match the quality of food. Honestly for the same prices we could have had a decent meal at Nando’s and more. Unfortunately the experience was not one I will be returning too and I feel that this establishment won’t be changing much neither...

I am writing this on behalf of my grandmother who visited the Dutchie on 12th May 2018. “I went into the Dutchie in Croydon High Street with my daughter and my son to have a late lunch and were seated soon after. We bought drinks and waited for the waiter to come around and take our order. We waited for about half an hour and during that period the waiter passed us with no explanation as to why we were still waiting. Another 15 minutes went by and still no food although customers were turning up and were being served their meals. We approached the waiter to ask what the hold up was and he apologised and said that he could not help as he doesn’t cook the food, he only waits and doesn’t know what the hold up is. Yet the takeaway meals were still coming out of the kitchen. Eventually we got fed up, paid for our drinks and left with no apology. The treatment that we received was appalling and I would never visit this establishment again. This place seriously needs to address customer service.”
