Needed new pedals as I couldn't use my new cycling shoes (bought elsewhere years ago, but kept in box) with old-fashioned clips and straps. The assistant took the time to show me the clipless options, and pointed out the ones I might find easier to use as a first-time clipless user. I chose a set of pedals, and had a look round the shop while the assistant and his colleagues fitted my pedals and cleats. I was also given advice on riding with clipless pedals, and on how to adjust the tension when I have gained a bit more confidence with them. I'm getting back into cycling after a long lay-off. It's great to see that independent bike shops still give a good standard of service. Thanks guys!

Best bike shop in the country. I am now on my fourth bike and still own the first. As a triathlete my bike and the maintenance of it are imperative to my success and the guys at bike uk offer service second to none. Lucy does a very professional and accurate bike fit which meant I went into my race on my TT bike with confidence and comfort. David C on the shop floor is always happy to help, and is very knowledgeable. I always enjoy popping into the shop and always leave with something new. The store arranged a My O Orbea Ordu Tri bike in my dream colours and kept me up to date with the delivery. Thank you all so much and I look forward to continuing to rely on you guys to keep my bikes in fine form.

I have been a customer of bike UK for a few years now and decided it is time to write a review. Initially very impressed however my recent experiences have been poor. The store offers a price match service, and a while back was advised by the staff they would rather I price match in store than buy elsewhere. Recently, I have asked to buy price matched products and been told that I'm "killing the bike industry" in a somewhat confrontational manner. Now, first off, I wouldn't feel the need to price match if not advised to by the store, and, if it wasn't so ridiculously expensive in the first place and 60% cheaper online. Basically, I feel I'm being asked to be mugged off on a huge mark-up. Meanwhile, I popped into Evans the other day and It was great, they sourced the components I needed for a repair, didn't pressure me for labour, (I do my own), and looked up cheaper products online for price match without me asking. Bike UK, at the very least, needs to have a consistent store policy as being confronted by staff for price matching was not a good experience. I used to love the store when I had a good relationship with them and felt they were helping me out, now it depends on who serves me, (and I know less of the staff who know I bought I bike there, which probably made them more friendly). I hope bike UK sorts this out, otherwise it's a great store with knowledgeable staff, and most of the team are super helpful. So, I still give 3 stars, will continue to use the store (it is my local, but possibly more of my money will go elsewhere), and review again in the future.

Great staff, made plenty of time for me and gave great advise with brilliant product knowledge. Very please with the new bike and will return here for accessories and servicing. highly recommend.

Excellent service from Calvin. After a bug in the company's online website I called to try and recover the situation. Explaining that my purchase was for a birthday gift the following day Calvin went out and purchased wrapping paper himself and hand wrapped my gift before dispatching it next day to arrive in time. Top marks and an excellent recovery of what could have been a one star review!
