hotel is exactly what I’d expect for a 3* hotel and for the money I paid. It was clean, the room was a little dated but very comfortable- we had the family room which had 2 singles and one double possibly king? and a very comfy couch which looked like it was a couch bed . We encountered no issues in the room at all- plenty of towels, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits as well as toiletries and a fan.nnTravelled last minute with a 3 and 7 year old for one night . We all enjoyed the use of the swimming pool which was a lovely temperature and appeared to be spotless . The sauna area was lovely. We knew about the charge for the use of the pool so that came as no surprise as did some research first . Pool open until 8.45.pm.nnAt one point there were 3 members of staff on reception, all of whom were pleasant and helpful. We received a warm welcome when we first arrived and the man sorry didn’t catch the name was really kind, helpful and warm. I was a little worried from reading past reviews but really didn’t need to be. We had no issues with noise, we were in room 91 and it was very quiet. A perfect cheap last minute getaway to get a good night sleep. Thank you to all the staff we encountered who were helpful and smiling
Sharing here since the email address I was given to complain does not work!nnOn Saturday 4th July I stayed at Forest Hills Hotel, booking in the afternoon of the same day after a last minute change of plans.nnI’m afraid to say my experience was incredibly poor and the price of £139 for a single night just didn’t feel worth it.nnThe decor in my room 89 was incredibly dated and I didn’t once have Wifi coverage in the room, nor did the television work, presumably because of the non-existent Wifi. I appreciate my booking was late but surely a room should come with working services that are advertised.nnOn the Sunday morning a fire alarm went off. No explanation was provided at the time and the management of the guests was poor. Admittedly this was a Sunday morning so you’d expect staff levels to be lower but I expected better.nnThe worst part of my experience was the lady on the front desk, the same who ‘welcomed’ me and on check out. I fear she’s in the wrong job because she barely made eye contact with me on checking in, and when checking out she showed no interest in why I wanted this email address to complain.nnAll she did was make it clear that I wasn’t due any sort of refund because I didn’t have breakfast booked on the morning of the fire alarm and she spoke very unprofessionally about the workman who was clearly just trying to help, I was stunned. I understand it was a stressful situation but her attitude was poor.
Don't believe the possitive reviews . We arrived to find out pool is extra ,when there is NOTHING on the website! The pool is ok if you like the smell of sewage . Then the biggest joke was entering our room to find one less bed and when questioned ,we was told we was down graded ,but staff were happy to take full payment of the previous room price with out stating the situation of the room, no email no call either!nAnd if you get room 98 be prepared to listen to the constant sounds of generators or whatever is in the building opposite . Deceiving modern entrance , then you see the rooms that are soooo outdated and run down ,lights with no light bulbs, pillows are useless ,the mattresses are on their last legs and squeaky, one of my children chose to sleep on the floor over the bed which says alot .restaurant is overpriced and limited , when ordering drinks we was given pints even though we wasn't asked what size . Most staff we came across just seemed like they didn't want to be there and guests are an inconvenience, which really does ruin the experience .
My friend and I have been today for use of the spa and an afternoon tea. The first thing I want to say is how lovely all the staff are. Paul the leisure centre manager was so friendly and couldn't do enough, he took time out of his day to check we were OK and enjoying it. My friend and I both relaxed in the spa then had a lovely afternoon tea. I have not used a room but would happily revisit. A really lovely and friendly place.
The hotel has a beautiful view of Frodsham from The Grill on The Hill restaurant that features inside the hotel, it’s very relaxing while enjoying the very good breakfast selection or enjoying an afternoon of tea and cake. The hotel has a swimming pool and leisure facilities, both of which allow for locals and guests alike. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Shout out to Donna in Grill from the hill who was incredible with service standards and warm friendly personality. The room itself overlooked a beautiful scenic set of trees which looked amazing in the misty rain, really quiet and peaceful. I notice many reviews pointing out the dated rooms, but for me and the price of under £70, I thought it was decent and quite adequate. One little thing to note, I’m not sure if our room was above the gym, but around about 6ish, there was loud music from underneath the room which was distracting enough to be loud even with tv on. I would also say that the stunning location on the hotel, does mean a steep walk to it if arriving by foot on the train station with luggage. I enjoyed the walk, it is very scenic, but it is something to consider if you are arriving by foot, be prepared for a walk along the sandstone trail I think it is . All in all I really liked the hotel mainly because of the outstanding service , good location and lovely restaurant.
