Staff were very absent and had better things to be doing than serving customers, but otherwise the hotel was great. The hotel room was especially clean and had everything you'd need for a short stay. There was a mess made in the lift by a fellow customer and it was cleaned up very quickly. There was very little noise from the outside despite a very nicepub being connected to the building as well as being across the road from another very nicepub. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will more than likely be returning one day soon.
The hotel itself is in a great location and is ideal if you are going on a night out. Staff are friendly and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. Be aware that there are bars around the hotel and even under part of it, so at the weekends it is loud. Unless you request a quiet room, I wouldn’t recommend coming here for a quiet stay. Overall, it’s not bad for the price and location.
The lady on reception was very helpful and friendly. She upgraded our room when we couldn't book a family room on line. The room was very spacious and clean. The only downfall is that the hotel is on top of a club so you can hear the music and also there is no parking. You have to park in the local car park but the hotel does give you 50% off off parking.
Stayed for one night for wedding Anniversary. Went out for a meal and cocktails. Great location situated right in middle of the city, everything you need from shopping to food and drink. Room was well priced, basic but clean. Cheap and cheerful, bish bash bosh. Would stay here again in the future purely for the location and price.Rooms: 3/5
Great hotel. Huge rooms, very clean, nice staff, perfect location. Only down side was the air conditioning was very noisy and around the corner in the room so couldn't feel it in the sleeping area. We stayed in a family room.Rooms: 4/5
Weekend visit, staff so friendly and really helpful on arrival. Room was very smart and its just what you expect from a hotel. But my night sleep wasn't so great, very uncomfortable bed and the same for the pillows. No window to open for a bit of cold air, so I had to put on a really noisy air conditioning system, it wasn't great. Rooms: Bathroom was ok everything you need. Shower water very hot in the evening but I had a shower in the morning and it wasn't so hot. No window to open, and a noisy air conditioning system Bed was not comfortable and I didn't get much sleep. Walkability: Location of this hotel is spot on to pubs and bars. Not a long walk to the town centre.
Brilliant location, right next too some great pubs and restaurants. The room itself was fine, clean and tidy. However the bed felt akin to laying on a slab of slate. And the pillows were bobbly. Had a pretty naff night sleep sadly. Maybe we just got unlucky
The staff were great, and the location in the town is brilliant, but the room was a disappointment. Compared to other travellodges we've stayed in, this room was poor. Cold shower, no plugs near mirrors, burns on carpets, poor TV signal so only a few channels.Rooms: 2/5
Do not recommend this hotel at all. As previous reviews state, it's directly on top of a nightclub and the noise is ridiculously loud, as if being in the restroom of a club. You won't be getting to sleep any earlier than 3am. On top of that, the room wasn't particularly the cleanest. And the travel cot they provided my child wasn't suitable at all. They provided no mattress, just a double duvet folded over. Obviously a child under the age of 1 would be at serious risk of suffocation if left alone in there overnight.
Do not recommend - given a room where the fan in the fire escape next to it kept tuning on and off all night. No-one on reception between 01:00 and 03:00. No room to change to and they said they had complaints about the noise before. I would not stay here again as it was impossible to sleep.
