Lovely little hotel. I loved the design of the room, which was very cozy and quaint. The only downside was poor water pressure in the shower. The folks at the front desk were nice and helpful. Perfectly located next to the Gloucester Road station, which was very helpful for getting around. Also, some decent coffee and grocery options, which is always important.
I would definitely come back to this hotel. The most important part is that you are 3 minutes walk away from tube station. It is one of the most central linepicadilly line. The room was huge. The furniture was very run down. The bed was comfortable.Rooms: 4/5
The room are bit tiny but enough. Ppl from NY Mumbai or Hong Kong won’t complain . Well made rooms and nice comfortable beds. Service is good. Breakfast offered is good Best thing is location of this hotel. It is so close to everything in central london and within walking distance to some of best restaurants in London across all budget ranges
The room was comfortable and clean enough for a rest after a busy day, although amenities and service did not differ from regular 3-stars hotels. Furnitures and the carpet overall seemed very old, and we had problems getting water from the showerhead. The sink also drained very slowly. The location, however, was absolutely fantastic. Continental breakfast was okay but the full English was not worth it.
4 - Stars - are you kidding me! My experience at this hotel recently was very, very disappointing. It was a recommendation from my sister who had stayed there several times admittedly a while ago so was expecting a good stay. The property must have changed hands as the owners have not spent a cracker on it for a long, long time, there were red flags from the start. The entrance is tired and looked somewhat disorganized, void of any comfort and the welcome you expect from at a 4-star establishment. You can’t make a second, first impression. Fortunately, we had not paid yet due to a clerical error. The room was as displayed on the website, but it is the finer details that you experience in person. For approximately $500AUD per night for a “boutique” 4-star hotel and we had just stayed in several 3 and 4-star hotels, this was a BIG step down and would have expected a much higher standard all round. If you’re not a 4-start hotel don’t advertise you are, this hotel would struggle to make 3-stars in my view. This was not helped when the bed was presented in such a way that exposed an obvious repair job. This was in plain sight because they had neglected to prepare the room satisfactorily. The chair at the desk was coming apart at the joints, the safe would not work and the space between the new inside windows and the original outside windows were full of dust and grime. It was adding up, our experience vs value was declining very quickly. But the final straw was the bathroom, where under the bath in the corner was a 5cm by 5 cm hole in the plastering. On touching it, it was damp and crumbled away further. The place is old and requires maintenance which is clearly not happening. We decided to go have a chat with the “manager”, that went along the lines of “there is nothing we can do for you”. She begrudgingly offered us another room, alternatively we could leave, so we left. Thank goodness we had not paid, although they were constantly following us up for payment - no wonder. We ended up finding a far superior “4-star hotel” in the West End, 250 meters from Covenant Gardens at a similar price. This hotel Waldorf met and exceeded the minimum requirements of a 4-star hotel. On hearing our story, they even up graded our room. Fellow travelers, read the reviews, and STAY AWAY from the Ashburn. Faulty Towers as nothing on this place.
Wonderful stay at the Ashburn! Excellent service... well-appointed, clean room... easy access to public transportation... great location... what more can you ask for. We felt very welcomed by all the staff and management. I would definitely book it again and highly recommend staying at the Ashburn Hotel.Rooms: 5/5
Upon arriving at the hotel there were hotel supplies toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc stacked in the lounge/bar area. The rooms had old/warm furniture and stains on the carpet and couch. Knobs were missing on the bathroom vanity. All the outlets were located on one side of the room which was pretty inconvenient. The hair dryer that was supplied by the hotel did not work. Limited bath towels and wash cloths were given. Bathtub had a very large step to get in and out of the shower which could be a safety concern. Breakfast was served starting at 8AM on the weekends which caused us to be unable to have breakfast any day we were there due to tours starting earlier than that. When we asked the front desk if a “bagged breakfast” was available we were told there was nothing they could do even though majority of the breakfast items were set out and ready by 7:30AM but we were rudely told to “get out” and “you can’t be in here”. Overall location was great, rooms were large, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
I recently stayed at Ashburn hotel and was pleasantly surprised by its spacious rooms, a rarity to find in London. Its convenient location, just a 4-minute walk from the metro station, with a direct line to the airport, made my travels effortless. The area boasts numerous restaurants, and the neighborhood is clean and charming. The rooms were impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, fitting our preference for a historic ambiance and generously sized beds. The continental breakfast offered a satisfactory variety. Overall, a delightful stay!
A good hotel in a good location. The room was a bit small but adequate and good value for London. No issues, but wouldn't regard this as a luxury hotel - more mid-range.Rooms: 4/5
1. We did not have a working toilet for 16 hours. 2. No mitigation was offered during these 16 hours. They could have switched our room, called emergency maintenance, or helped rebook us at a nearby hotel for the night. They didn’t offer to refund our first night. 3. We were not told about any other bathroom in the hotel. Originally I was just told not to use a toilet for 12 hours. I had to ask to even learn about the basement restroom. 4. We were told maintenance would arrive at 8am. They never came which caused us to lose hours of our vacation we were waiting to use the restroom in case maintenance came up as promised. 5. Management is difficult to reach and the front desk worker was incredibly rude when we asked him to contact management about our room issue. Otherwise, this hotel is only average. The rooms are dated and smell musty. In our second room the toilet needed to be pumped to flush and the sink and shower drained very slowly.
