Excellent location; just 5 minutes away from Gloucester road and just next to it a Waitrose supermarket. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and well darkened by large curtains. Excellent buffet breakfast in a beautiful room. The staff is very friendly. Ask for the green tea + mint pot. :Hotel highlightsLuxury, Kid-friendly, Great value
Great location, friendly staff, and a nice breakfast buffet. We stayed for a weekend and were lucky enough to be upgraded to a deluxe room - very nice, but judging from the pictures it's simply a slightly larger room with a higher ceiling. Staff were friendly and accommodating, taking care of luggage both before check-in and after check-out if needed. The spaces are nicely decorated, though some parts are in need of renovation. The carpets in some areas feel worn out and we noticed some strange smells in parts. Still, overall it's a clean and warm atmosphere. There's a spacious lobby where you can lounge in sofas and armchairs, and an adjacent bar which is spacious and cozy but has limited opening hours. The location in Kensington is ideal for most, it's a fairly calm neighborhood but still close to everything. The nearest tube stop is less than a five minute walk away. The breakfast buffet had everything you might expect from an English breakfast, eggs, bacon, hash browns, porridge, tomatoes and veggies, yogurt, bread and croissants - great pork sausages especially! The dining area has a couple TVs on the walls showing the news on mute. We paid £12.50 for breakfast, but without pre-booking they said the price would be £16. Fair price, I reckon.
We were sceptical about this one because of some reviews, but it was lovely. Very clean beautiful reception area, with friendly, helpful staff. Our room was cosy and clean with nice tea making facilities and a handy mini fridge. Bedding was clean, neat and fresh. We had a nice view onto the street. Air conditioning worked fine. Shower room was clean and stocked with nice toiletries and soft towels. Breakfast had a great range, from English breakfast to continental options. We tried a bit of everything over our stay and it was all great, the staff were also very diligent, cleaning up tables immediately and making sure everything was regularly stocked up with fresh options. We especially loved the bacon and sausages, and the croissants were great! As others have mentioned, there is a slight musty smell in the corridor, but only there. It is fresh and clean-smelling everywhere else, and the room had no smell. Both lifts worked fine. It is a lovely older building and the staff clearly work hard. Very reasonable price for such a great area. They refreshed our room nicely, and the team were great, looking after our bags while we waited for our train etc. Best of all was the location, literally less than 5 mins from Gloucester Road tube station so we could get everywhere with ease. Only a short walk from Kensington high street and the palace. We had a great time and would stay again, we had a double room, room 205 and couldn't really fault it! Thank you!
Great location. Front desk and breakfast staff were professional and friendly. Common areas are reasonably clean and appeared well looked after. Some fixtures in the room 527 were broken E.g., sink, reading light. Strong and unpleasant odour from the bathroom. Despite advertising 11am check out, the cleaner knocked on the door every 15 minutes from 8am, which is incredibly unprofessional.
Hotel was nice, clean, quite spacious and the location was great. There is an aircond panel in the room but it doesn't seem to work - even after getting instructions from the front desk. Had to sleep with the windows open, and it was noisy as we could hear police or ambulance sirens quite often. There is no ramp and we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. How do those on wheelchairs access the hotel?
I stayed in this hotel in September and I loved the location and easy walk to restaurants, museums, tube station and Hyde Park. The bed was comfy and the room was a decent size for London. My problem started on the 2nd day the first day my room wasn't cleaned when I put my passport in my make up bag and hid it under my clothes in the wardrobe. When I got back to my room my passport as well as some make up were sitting on the desk. When I told the front desk they said no manager was on duty but would let her know in the morning. The next morning I asked to speak with the manager and she was unfazed about this happening. I said I didn't want anyone coming into my room the rest of my visit - which meant no clean towels for 3 more nights. I was traveling on my own and it was very upsetting knowing someone had been through my belongings. I wrote a note on the survey after I returned home and no response. Which tells me I am not the first person this has happened to and that management doesn't care. So if you stay here please use the safe and lock up everything.
THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL The only reason this hotel is still in business would be because of the location, It is very close to the tube and other tourist attractions. The Rooms are run down, moldy and no sound proofing for the busy road below. The sweet smell of the mold made it hard to sleep and made me feel nauseous. My room was below a standard of cleanliness of a high way motel, with finger prints and smugges on the walls, gashes of paint taken off corners from years of guests with no upkeep, torn curtains, and dirty carpets. If you are here on business do not count on using the WIFI, you get a pitiful 1-2mb/s. I cannot comment on the breakfast, but based on the other reviews I am glad I didn't pay for it.
It’s a hotel trying to be a fancy hotel. It is very tired. And our room smells. Location is great as you can ride the Piccadilly line to most of the shops and sites. Rooms: Tired and smells Walkability: 3min walk to Gloucester Road station Food & drinks: Breakfast is OK but there are better places around.
This hotel has its pros and cons. First, it doesn’t quite meet the standards expected of a Frasers property. Upon arrival, I struggled with two large bags and found no one available to assist me with the steps at the entrance. I was also disappointed with the room size, which was smaller than what I expected based on the online images. Additionally, the sink in the bathroom was clogged. On the positive side, the location is excellent—just a short walk to the Gloucester Road metro station. There’s a nearby supermarket, and it’s close to Kensington Park.
I would like to thank Hassan and Anita for being so helpful! There is a laundry, 2 grocery stores, restaurants and the Tube right here! The junior suite and deluxe suite rock. Breakfast on site. Need help ask the desk crew! They know it all. They even booked a car back to the airport for us! The staff IS the reason why we stay here when we come to london. From us to the Desk crew, Breakfast staff and the Cleaning Staff THANK YOU SO MUCH!
