we had a renovated room double king superior, small but exactly what we were expecting! bed was big and reasonably comfortable, bathroom was fine! staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. baggage drop worked great and utilities like hair dryers can be “borrowed” from the reception.Rooms: 3/5
I can very much recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great accommodation at very affordable prices. The staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful I've come across in any hotel. The hotel's renovations are well under way and bathrooms and rooms are very clean and comfortable. I regularly travel to London for work, and after having tried many different hotels, I now always stay at the Cromwell International. Great staff and great hotel - highly recommend!
The hotel is still being renovated, so corridors, lift carpet etc are not finished. The room itself was mostly clean, quiet and definitely comfortable. Great value for the price we paid. Location was really central and staff were mostly very helpful.Rooms: 4/5
Staff were nice that was really the only good thing about this place. My room was located half way up the stairs between 2 floors. So had to take the elevator to the 3rd floor and go half way up the stairs to get to my room. There was construction going on on the floor above me. Went to have a shower no hair dryer, went to reception and was told they only have 2 hair dryers in the whole hotel and you have to sign in and out of using it. Ended up going and buying my own hair dryer. After getting the hair dryer, went for a shower and the shower started over flowing on to the bathroom floor. Turns out the drain was clogged to the brim with hair! Also bathroom door wouldn't close properly cause a tile wasn't placed down properly. The hotel had no working AC so had to sleep with the window open.
Some of the rooms are still being renovated. Make sure they allocate a renovated room. I booked a single room and at first I was given a room that had not been renovated and the air conditioning unit was leaking water. The reception staff were very helpful and moved me to a renovated room. The single room was very small but it was clean and comfortable and has everything you need for a short stay. Location was ok for me as it was only a 20 minute walk to the Albert Hall and Hyde Park.
The condition of Cromwell hotel is a DISASTER. I have never checked in and checked out on the same day before, but my husband and I decided to check out immediately after we checked in on 26 June. The walls and carpet are very dirty. The curtain is broken. Parts of your hotel are under renovation, the air quality is poor, and we felt itchy the whole time we were in the room. Additionally, the air conditioning is not working. The room felt like a furnace—stuffy, hot, and with bad air. I understand that everyone has different standards for room cleanliness and maintenance, but there was trash piled up outside the balcony broken chairs, cans, lots of cigarettes, and I even saw socks?!. It shows that you didn’t even bother to clean it. That’s unacceptable. London is the last stop of my honeymoon, and this experience has ruined it. We checked out at 21:00 and were on the street looking for another hotel. We had to make a last-minute booking at a much higher rate and move to another hotel with all our luggage. It’s a complete mess and a very bad experience. The employee on shift on 26 June said that he totally understood and would let the manager respond to me the next day 27 June. It is now July and I still haven't received a single reply from the hotel. This is very disappointing and shows a lack of responsibility. Choose the hotel carefully!
CHECK REVIEWS WHEN YOU BOOK. This hotel is one of the worst hotels I have ever been to. At first, we was located a room down in the basement. We did not feel safe whatsoever being down there as we were the only room in that particular section, other than the staff rooms. On top of this, there was a doorway which was unlocked that led onto the construction that the hotel is having done. Second of all, when we moved to another a hotel room, there were suspicious stains on the walls, the room smelt as soon as you walked in, there was a brown stain on the sheets, which the cleaners did not sort out so that is not acceptable, and the bathroom was rusty, the tap had water spraying from all angles. The health and safety of this hotel needs to be examined as I am sure it should not be able to the public until all of this is resolved, and FIXED !! The lifts were disgusting, as you will see in others reviews. Do not waste your money, and check the reviews to the places you stay at, this is unacceptable for a hotel.
Spent one evening in my room. Very adequate and clean. Staff very helpful. Only downside was my room was on the 5th floor and the elevator wasn’t working. However a staff member assisted me with my luggage. Extremely nice and considerate young man.Rooms: 4/5
We’ve been in this hotel for four nights. We were a little bit afraid at first with all the comments on Google. But it was really respectable ! The room was clean the bathroom too, The towels too…. I think it is a good place for the price of it. Thank you to the wonderful staff, they were really appreciable
Very basic but for £30 per night in London what do you expect? There is a lot of construction work going on so bare this in mind We had a very pleasant stay as I said basic but we were only there to sleep. Shower was great Close to tube station Would highly recommended lava cafe across the road for breakfast. Really good. Rooms: Basic but only sleeping in it.
