So the Apollo Victoria is currently hosting Wicked the Musical which I knew nothing about before booking it for my daughter's 18th birthday. It wasn't a bad choice as it's a solid story and the cast really put their heart and soul into the performance.nnHowever the sound quality didn't match their efforts. For large parts of the show it was very hard to hear any lyrics over the music. Maybe this was down to the operatic style but I do have to wonder about the theatre's audio system.nnThat's a shame when you've paid £80 a seat in the stalls! Fortunately we had a good view of the stage and the rake of the seating means that your view is unlikely to be blocked.nnStill the theatre is comfortable and easy to get to on public transport. So we have no complaints on that score but it all could have been so much more.
You could say it was Wicked..nNice theatre and amenities, seating was decent enough and closer than you think it'll be. I'm not a big musical fan however this one got better as it went on. My wife who loves theatre really enjoyed it.nFood and drink are pricey as expected.
I’ve been dying to see Wicked ever since its debut, but the exorbitant prices of tickets in NYC deterred me from attending. Fortunately, London theater tickets are much more affordable compared to Broadway, allowing us to treat our entire family of five to this incredible show for only $300. Our seats were great right in the center on the ground floor. The theater itself was a sight to behold, adorned with an array of luminous green lights. With three bars and snack areas, the venue was well-equipped to cater to its audience. It was a full house, so intermission was a bit chaotic, but it was worth it. The play took some creative liberties from the original book, a delightful revelation that enhanced the overall experience. Filled with heartwarming moments and a joyous conclusion, the show left us all in high spirits. The talented cast delivered exceptional performances, showcasing their powerful vocal abilities. Even my children, aged 7, 10, and 15, were thoroughly captivated by the production. My husband and I were so enamored by the show that we jokingly entertained the idea of returning to London for a romantic weekend getaway, solely to indulge in the plethora of theater productions the city has to offer..
Saw Wicked here for the first time and loved it. The theatre is big, imposing and beautiful. While I was sat far in the back, I still had a fantastic view of the entire performance. Thanks for the fantastic and truly memorable evening.
Wow, what a show, wonderful story and take on the classic ‘Wizard of Oz’ covering the back story. The theatre is excellent with kind and knowledgeable staff, the acting and sing were phenomenal. It is located a short walk from Victoria tube station so easy to get too. Brilliant
