Very friendly landlord, who explained he recently took over the pub with his family. Ordered a few drinks - excellent choice and good value for money. They do food too but didn’t sample that. Nice, quiet location with beautiful surroundings if you sit outside in the beer garden on the benches. Can park right outside. Inside is clean but a little tired - landlord did explain he’s doing a full refurb in October 2022.
Amazing Exceptional Top notch! No words to describe the taste, the flavours and the portion! The best chicken burger I ever had! The atmosphere nice, staff brilliant and very helpful.
Went here on Bonfire night for a meal and to hide the dog away from any fireworks. The staff were super friendly and the food was excellent and really well priced. The menu is exactly what you would expect from a small country pub but the quality brilliant. I will defiantly be coming back!
We were at The Aquarium and found this little gem looking for somewhere to eat with my family. The staff were really friendly and the food was really good. Very well priced great section. The picture was just the Sunday Menu but there was a main menu, snack menu,kids menu and grill menu
Lovely new management team. Nice and busy, good vibes. Food was superb, very tasty, good portions, and served at exactly the right pace. Can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu. Top team, well done!
We enjoyed four very different meals here one evening and each was excellent and agreed to be well above the pub norm. The Real Ales were also very good so we stayed longer for a further pint and some Uno. We had a lovely night and we heartily recommend the Anglers for a relaxed, top quality experience.
Amazing place! Great food and the owners are so lovely. Got here quite late after driving for over 6 hours and the owners were so accommodating. We had to come back the next day! 100% recommend it!
UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT 20th March 2023 When the locals start to Queue for Sunday lunch you know the place is off to a great start. Fabulous food over 2 menus. Dogs still made very welcome in the rear bar. Great range of Ales and beers. Would have eaten here every night of our week's holiday if we weren't out and about exploring the Lakes so much.
Great atmosphere. Very welcoming. Food super. Compared to other pubs/establishments serving food at a similar price locally, we'd go here again.
We live locally so was very happy to see the pub had new owners however went at the weekend and was made to feel very unwelcome! Some friends were visiting and even they made comments as to how unfriendly the staff were. The place was empty and there was only one other group in there and we were told it was too busy for food and were told it would be well over an hours wait for food, we said that's ok we'll order and just wait for when it was ready however it only took 20 minutes and actually just felt like they didn't want us in there. Two of the group were 'non-white' not sure if that's why the manager was so hostile ?! but made us feel very uncomfortable. probably won't return again which is a shame because we live so close. *the food was very tasty though so no beef with the chef..just the foh staff
