The restaurant prides itself on quality, seasonal food situated in a scenic surrounding. The establishment used to supply flour to local families for generations and it was formerly one of Ulverston’s central flour mills. Parts of this beautiful Grade II listed mill are said to date back to the 12th Century, however the main building was constructed in the 19th century. Visited The Mill purely as they had vegan options. Ordered spiced carrot soup, beetroot and vegan feta salad and two cauliflower risottos. The food was fabulous, good sized portions, satisfying and full of flavour.. The cauliflower, spinach and pine nut risotto was the Rolls Royce of risottos, I've had some terrible risottos in the past, chef did a great job with his version. Service was great too, our waiter had only worked there a week having previously worked at Wray Castle, he was brilliant. Would definitely revisit when next in Ulverston.
Food is fantastic, great menu which is not over complicated or too many choices, but what you get is very tasty and well presented. Very good choice of beers. A very comfortable bar and restaurant for a nice meal and a few beers. The staff are very attentive and on the ball when it comes to looking after the customers they are an asset to the business, well done guys.
Love this pub and the food. It has a lovely feel as soon as you walk in. The food quality here is excellent, the menu is quite small but the food is amazing. I have not enjoyed a meal so much in a long time
Most delicious meal at the Mill at Ulverston. I read the Google reviews which were all very encouraging but the food was a revelation. Presentation was in par with an upmarket, fine dining experience and the tastes were spectacular. This was the best meal we had in the Lake District and we tried many top rated restaurants. It is a little out of the way for more traditional Lake District restaurants but worth it. Quite a few decent places in Ulverston.
Had an early dinner on a Saturday. The food was too notch. Probably the best kids meal I’ve had served to my brood. The fish goujons they had were super light and crisp. I have to say it’s a joy that they put so much effort into food for kids as it’s often overlooked in other restaurants. Mill burger was delicious and really big and good value I think. Service really polite and quick exactly what you want after a long drive to the lakes. I will def be back before I head home.
I had an excellent meal. The Mill is an imposing public house in the centre of Ulverston. It has no car park that I could see but there is good parking nearby. The interior was quiet and comfortable, the staff friendly and the food good though I thought the choices were a bit limited.
Just nipped in for a couple of drinks when we were in Ulverston for the Victorian fair and Christmas lights turn on. Very busy with a nice atmosphere. The outside terrace looked like a great seating area. Didn't try the food unfortunately as we didn't have time. It looked lovely though.
Lovely team and even better food. The pie! Oh my days was the Beef and Ale pie amazing. I couldn’t manage it all the way to the end. I am disappointed in myself at leaving it! Recommend this place to everybody!
Sadly the food standard went down over last two years. I had Cajun chicken burger and I couldn't taste even a hint of spice on the chicken breast, just plain chicken burger. The starter was nice so that's a redeeming factor. Parking: There is a paid parking lot just around the corner.
Lovely food, a step up from other pubs. Great service and really good price. Would definitely go back.Food: 5/5
