15 minutes to Coniston and Windermere. The location is great. Plenty of parking on the premises. The food at YHA is good. Self catering kitchen is great with plenty of amenities and nice dining area. A perfect location for walkers and those who like to explore Windermere, Ambleside and Consiton
Lovely and cozy place i spent only one night there, the staff is so nice and everything was clean and comfortable it was just a bit hard to get there cause i wasn’t driving so i walked 25min from the last busstop and there was no sidewalks but otherwise everything was perfect and i would go back
This is a beautiful location for a camping trip in the Lakes. Great views from the campsite of a lake, we would highly recommend for a calm camp site near to Windermere.nnToilets and showers were very clean. We didn’t eat here, but breakfast and dinner is offered at a relatively low price, as well as a bar for the evenings. There is also a kitchen and social room with games for use which was fun for a switched off weekend.nnLocally, Hawkshead village is ~20 minutes walk away, and the house next week has an honest box with fresh cakes.
Another fantastic YHA. Great place to stay. Storm Dave came through and knocked the power out but as we're we're in the teepi it didn't stop us. Staff were super helpful, breakfast was belly busting. 10 min down to the ferry across windermere. Can't beat it.
My family and I stayed here.nnThe day after we left the hostel my brother realised he had left his watch behind. We called as soon as he realised and the manager comfirmed they had located it by the discription and will keep it in their safe lost and found. We called up the following day to arrange an address and appropriate shipping.nThey then told us they didn't have it.nnThis was a sentimental watch as it was a gift from our dad. Months later they still hadn't found it.nnSeemed very odd that the watch had disappared. We woudln't stay here again as the staff seems untrustworthy.
