Fantastic setting on higher grounds overlooking Coniston Water. Ample space for tents everywhere. We arrived in Motorhome so stuck to the hardstand parking area right next to the amenities. Toilets and Showers plus undercover pot wash area with hot water. Really good facilities for those wanting a basic wilder camping experience at a very fair price. We are a huge fan of all the NT campsite so far.

Absolute bargain! We paid £22 for two nights in a campervan at the end of April and felt we had great value for money. There’s great views, super close to a lake, two showers and a toilet block. The staff were very friendly too. Thank you.

Very unfortunate experience that I will probably never forget. Some nugget was trying to cut the grass around all of the tents in torrential rain. Saturation drove many campers away accompanied by the aroma of cow dung!

Basic but has everything you need. Good location by the lakeside and about 2 miles walk into Coniston along the lake path. Ideal for nearby walking trails, such as The Old Man of Coniston. Ground a bit hilly and damp in places which may make pitching a tent more difficult at busier times. Friendly staff member visits several times a day.

Best campsite we have been to so far. Drive down a lovely lane then crossed a cattle bridge to a gorgeous view of Coniston Water. Found a great pitch and set up. Couldn't believe how quiet the site was of an evening and in the morning. Nice clean toilets/showers and washing up facilities. The walk down to the lake is great and you can even drive down to launch boats/kayaks which we did the latter and had a blast. The walk to Coniston was stunning and once there the village was stunning. Great pubs and great shops. We visited the Black Bull which had good beer and food. The Bluebird by the lake is fantastic for a good breakfast. We can't wait to go back!!
