An absolutely exquisite camping site. It's four miles from Ambleside, and the last bus back to it is at 18:00, [that was in August!] so be prepared if you go into town for a few drinks and a meal. The ferry from Low Wray Castle to Brockhole or Ambleside is a marvellous way to travel. It's better if you have a car, but I don't, and therefore only paid £11 a night for my pitch. Really friendly staff (especially lovely Lewis). A wonderful place, heartily recommended. A well-stocked little shop, sadly not licensed, but they do provide a variety of breakfast options. Best two weeks of 2017. Xx

Fantastic campsite with great facilities. Clean and tidy and loads of walks from the site. Highly recommend the stroll to Wray Castle along the lakeside. We'll definitely be back here again!

Beautiful, natural property with lots of lovely pitches. Fairly spread out over different types of areas(lakeside, meadow and woodland) facilities were clean and maintained. The staff were lovely and reception has plenty of supplies like dairy, bacon, eggs, basic snacks and a selection of camping supplies if needed. Extra wood and coal are a bonus! The only issue I had was that pitches can have a lot of natural gravel underground making staking a challenging task. Otherwise 5 ⭐️!!

What a place! Fantastic location, just a short (beautiful) walk to the Ferry stop at Wray Castle, well stocked little shop and clean shower blocks. The staff are friendly and went out of their way to help, even for an annoying pest like me. We camped on the lake side and had a great view, watching the sun set through the trees and reflecting on Lake Windermere with a beer is something I could get used to. We will be back, and next time we are going to try camping in the Forrest! That looks fun!
