"The White Bear Inn is a traditional North Yorkshire pub between the City of York and Helmsley. It is set in the heart of the village of Stillington and is owned and run by husband and wife team, Phil and Sue Robinson,Phil and Sue are passionate about creating a pub that sits at the very heart of the community. One that welcomes everyone and their dog as they walk through the door. The team at The White Bear Inn do the simple things that make a ‘trip to the local’ more than just about a drink. Catching up with friends, and making new ones. Phil’s passion for real local ales means there’s always a great choice of guest beers – sparking discussion with drinkers and diners alike."

Just enjoyed my Sunday lunch with a party of 5 - 3 adults and two children aged 3 and 5. Recommend their poached haddock fillet and fruit crumble. Was also able to get a pint of bitter - their own beer.
Lovely village pub. One room serving top quality food the other is a proper tap room. Great pint of Copper Dragon best bitter. I'll have to bring a driver on my next visit, 1 pint is not enough when you fancy a session. Staff are super attentive.
This is a fantastic pub with a good choice of beers and great food. I love the Sunday lunch choice, which is changed weekly. The bar area is dog friendly and my dog Oscar is always given a great welcome by the staff. I would recommend this pub but also recommend that you ring up to book.
Had a lovely walk to this place with my girls from a local campsite and it was so worthy of a good review. Every member of staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was brilliant in the choices it offered and very reasonably priced. There is also a lovely children's menu. They sell a plethora of gin which made me very happy! I recommend making a visit and I am sure the staff will go the extra mile for you as their customers. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
Beer with the milky consistency from the halcyon days of Tetley's when it was brewed in Leeds in the 80's. Great value too.
Had an amazing time phill and sue are so welcoming and accommodating the a accomodation was spotless the beds so comfortable best sleep i have had for awhile and food in the pub delicious highly recommed the white bear
