Friendly staff and enjoyable meal. Fish and chips got the thumbs up from the kid. The salmon was fine if a little bland, steak was good although quite fatty. It is a fattier cut than I usually go for. The crème brûlée was more like lemon curd. Tasty, but lemon curd. One to try again for sure.
Lovely pub, the atmosphere was really nice, we visited a few days before Christmas so the place looked very festive. I had a venison dish from the special board, it was fantastic, but on the small side for me, if I had 3 courses I'm sure the main course would have been a good size, but it was £24 for the main so I thought it would have been a bit larger than it was. Would recommend.
Amazing food, great service, visited with family on new years day and it was busy but we had a relaxing lunch. My 1yr old loved the risotto, the kids portion of fish and chips was huge but my 5yr had a good go at it and I had a fab venison pie.
Wow! Saw the signs on the way to Scarborough and thought we'd call in for food. So glad we did. Lovely homely pub. Friendly service and delicious home made food. Can't fault this place and will be our go to when in the area.
Excellent food again. Good beer and pleasant staff. Special of venison and the prawns were particularly good.
Thought we'd try somewhere else for a change. Booked and turned up. Greeted by a very pleasant lady who took us to our table.. All very clean, and nicely decorated. Drinks order taken and arrived quickly. Starters arrived and WOW.. we weren't expecting the quality of ingredients / presentation.. very nice.. same with the mains. I say WOW because the menu price point would suggest "decent pub grub".. it's far from that.. We were presented with restaurant quality food at a very good price. It's a nice lively atmosphere where you can just chat and not worry, plenty of families that had children of all ages.. All in all a very nice place..
Had a wonderful Sunday lunch with our Californian friends Denise & Peter loved it everything was perfect.
Had a great lunch here with the family. Food was excellent and the service from the young lady looking after us was warm friendly and helpful. One of our 'go to' places for a great dog friendly meal out.
A delicious lunch on a wet Thursday. Crackling log fire, friendly staff,and absolutely delicious food. An excellent specials board or the full menu available, all at reasonable cost. Would not hesitate to return
Amazing food. Lovely, friendly staff. Probably my favourite favorite pub in Yorkshire.
