I have been to this centre a few times it is nicely refurbished and mediation sessions are helpful. I cannot return anymore due to the fact they keep Buddha posters in the toilet and a Buddha head in the reception area. I am a Buddhist so to me this is highly disrespectful to Buddha. I did approach a guy in the office and informed them to take the poster out of the toilet. Shame I hope this centre can learn from there mistake and stop trying to make everything westernised.
visited the Buddhist centre in early January for an open day and would recommend to any person curious about meditation and other related practices. friendly staff greet you when you open the door on this thoroughly modern and spacious building , just a stones throw away, the hustle of W2. the reception had some plates of familiar biscuits; round , square and perforated. A large jug of water with lemon peel floating, cups and saucers, tea too. as i said a friendly and open place, you should go along as the centre offers 1 hour drop in meditation sessions throughout the day. you will be led downstairs by one of the instructors and after taking off your footwear ushered into a room. there a beautifully serene brass Buddha sits. behind and above Byzantine gold flake squares flutter within the spacious space.when you leave, then you can start living again.
Wonderful teachers and a heartwarming community. I dropped in to the centre a while back knowing just 1or 2 people feeling nervous as a newbie!. I quickly felt comfortable and settled and continued to come back for Saturday classes, music events, online classes. I got to know many others who are learning about Buddhism and meditation as well built relationships with the teachers who are really accessible and will find a way to support you on your spiritual journey.
The centre is beautifully designed with two exquisite shrine rooms, a yoga space, treatment room, library and a whole lot of hangout space. Good quality teaching. Worth a visit.
I would like to say that all of the online classes, events and retreats in which I have participated have been of the highest quality. The teachers are wonderful; imparting wisdom and the Teachings creatively, with clarity and kindness. I have enjoyed the online retreats with Bodhilila and Paramananda. They have restored me when I have felt weary. They have nourished my Soul. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I feel blessed to be able to have access to them.
I came here years ago to learn meditation on the free drop in Saturday sessions at 10.30am. I just went back and it's still great. Of course keeping it going means that I give some money at the end of it. This way more people can benefit from the sessions and the center can continue. I enjoy these sessions as there is a break in between where I can talk with the other attendees and the teacher. It's a great way to learn more and connect with other people. The center itself is very comfortable. They have a peaceful area to sit on the ground floor and a great meditation room below. I like the library which is for reference purposes. I would recommend anyone try out the meditation at this center as it is one of the best.
Experienced a very enjoyable long weekend retreat here over the August Bank Holiday. It was a fantastic experience, professionally run and superb with well thought out and lead through material. What made it though was the people running it. They were an amazing team of three who were warm, generous and genuine. Their willingness to be open lead meant despite the online nature of it, there was a true sense of intimacy and that was a lovely thing to be part of. There was also no pressure on you to be anything or experience anything. It was relaxed and very real. There is authenticity and integrity here that will have me returning!
I came to this wonderful centre online during Covid and then in person and have never looked back. I feel welcomed, supported and part of an inclusive community when attending the Saturday morning meditations and the many wonderful courses the centre offers. The approach and the teachers are warm, generous and kind. I thoroughly recommend.
Cannot recommend highly enough. For learning about meditation and Buddhism - the teachers are superb and some of the most inspiring people I have ever met - but also for the people you will meet, without exception, open kind and supportive. If you haven't done online courses or meditations, they really work and you have nothing to worry about. The centre has been a beacon of support and hope in these strange times and if you want your faith in humankind restored, this is the place!
I had the most wonderful retreat with such insightful, wise, tender and kind teachers. I was anxious about how a virtual retreat would feel, but can honestly say it came as close to actual as is possible. Technically, too, the organisation was fantastic and being able to access the events I missed, read the poems again and again! and even receive reminders about sessions starting was just so thorough and helpful. I felt this retreat came to me as a gift and was a most welcome one. What a privilege it was to meet you all in that field.....
