Popped in for a nightcap on our last night away. Was met with Chris & Bruce in the bar around the fireplace. We were welcomed to join them, although was unsure if it was a private function. We delved deep in conversation from lady Godiva to a field heritage and had a really nice time with them, albeit just the four of us. Asked for a final drink and was informed that they closed 30mins prior, despite having a full bottle of white on their table. Left swiftly after.
As visitors to the area this was a great experience - a simple pub full of friendly locals. Really feels like your being invited into the landlords front room. Loved the interior with loads of local art.
Great beer, lovely location and dog friendly. Lots of outdoor tables to enjoy the tranquillity. A fabulous spot to stop and take in the beautiful peaks.
Lots of thornbridge beers on offer, friendly staff, and leaflets for regular music nights
Hidden Gem of the Peaks,. A great pub to visit when you in the area. Top landlord and landlady and as an added bonus the beer is good too !
Enjoyed a stop-off during a recent walk. Great little pub in a truly remote location.
What a lovely pub with an eclectic range of people. The owners are lovely and so welcoming they make you feel part of the family. Definitely recommend a pint or two here, a perfect way to end a day of walking or just visiting.
Absolutely lovely tapas! Not at all what I expected from a local out of village pub, but the food was really interesting and delicious! Lovely local vibes, really great amazing food worth a visit if you can book in for food!
Good little pub - well worth a visit. Honest food - excellent wraps. Pretty terraced beer garden with a range of real ale and cider.
Lovely place to visit with locally sourced food and drink. Parking available and a great place to start / end walks to nearby Mildale, Dovedale, Iilam, Manifold Valley and Thor’s Cave. Dog friendly, family run, traditional pub with stunning views on its doorstep.
