Not a good experience. Agreed a price of £40 to take my family including elderly dad back from L18 to the Wirral, first drove off as they said they had the wrong number for me, did come back to be fair but then hiked it up to £55 with no notice because one of the tunnels was closed we apparently should have looked up any road closures before booking and they had to do drop off people on the way to the final destination despite the fact that they were all in the same postcode area. Do like the idea of supporting local firms but they don't make it easy.
Didn't even bother turning up. Booked over a month in advance as was in Liverpool for a wedding. Called the day before to check was still booked in - confirmed. On the night, we waited at the agreed location, appreciated it was Sat night and busy so waited for half an hour over the the agreed time before calling, was told the driver was on the way. Called 15mins later and told the driver had another drop off and should* be there in approx. 1hour... Didn't seem apologetic, prior booking irrelevant. Save yourself the hassle and grab an Uber.
Turned up on time, having booked 90 mins in advance. Very friendly driver, Richard. We arranged for him to pick us up later, gave him a call when we were ready. On our way back to our hotel, he chatted all the way, telling us interesting stuff about his city which he clearly loves, it was better than any tour really. Makes you glad to be alive when you meet people like this. I'd used them a couple of days before too, from South Parkway station, via the call box on the wall. That also worked well and the driver was friendly then too. There are a lot of bad reviews on here, but I suspect that people who have a nice/fine taxi experience don't get around to writing a review, so the results are skewed towards the negative.
I swear by this taxi company as they've never really messed me around. 90% of the drivers know who I am and we all have a laugh. Recently I've had issues with 'people' and they were calling taxis maliciously. I contacted the owner of the company to explain and apologise for them having their time wasted and the drivers losing money over it. The owner was amazing about it and put into place a security password so that people can't maliciously book taxis. I highly recommend that more people ask for this so that it protects drivers from wasting valuable time and fuel because of people being petty and childish. I think it was a great solution to the problem because it had an immediate effect!
DO NOT PRE-BOOK Failed to.arrive for a pre booked taxi that was booked over 24hrs in advance and was told " tough" by the controller. Good job I wasn't going to catch a flight or a train. Won't be using them again. Another reason why Uber is a far superior service.
Booked a Taxi a month in advance via email. Booking was confirmed by company and was given a quote. Called a week before to double check and the booking was nowhere in the system, luckily they had a slot. Driver on pick up was very unproffesional and spent most of the ride complaining about how little they would make from the job and making comments about their boss. Driver for return journey arrived 30 minutes early for 1am pick-up and wasn't even at the location requested and had just put in the postcode. We were at a wedding venue and had to text the driver the full address which we had already provided and share our location. 3 very poor interactions for a single job.
I rang at 18:47 and they said it will be 5 minutes driver around the corner and it currently 19:26 worst taxi service in garston and there ignoring my calls
Stayed in Liverpool and tried to use on 2 occasions.First time taxi driver was not helpful at all as we booked for 6 and only could take 4. He justdrove off. Second time we booked at 1pm for 11pm and they just cancelled . Awful service. We used Uber , no problems.
We stayed at the Premiere Inn at Speke and used their direct line to book a taxi to take us to the airport at 2.30am - in time to catch our 6am flight. The booking was taken and confirmed at 8pm the previous evening. Next morning, the Village Taxi failed to turn up and when I phoned them to find out if a taxi was coming, I was told it wasn’t and there was little chance of getting one in the next hour, or so. Fortunately, the airport was only a 10 minute walk away and the weather was nice. However, with our baggage, it wasn’t the best start to our holiday. I’ve had previous experience of poor service by Village so that’s it now - never again!!
Awful service can never turn up on time DO NOT PREBOOK YOUR TAXIS WITH THIS COMPANY!
