I had two, back-to-back, negative experiences with airport transfers.nnThe taxi that collected me from Manchester airport did not have a working Air C, and by the time I arrived in Liverpool, I was drenched in sweat and so was the driver. It was a very hot day; a heatwave for UK standards.nnThe driver that transferred me to Manchester airport did not have an app, or other machine, to accept payment by card, and I had no cash at all. Upon booking, the operator had confirmed that I could pay by card, though. I then proceeded to have a surreal experience at the airport, whereby the driver followed me or, rather, accosted me inside Departures and waited for me to check in my suitcase. At his insistence, I searched for an ATM machine, but couldn’t find one. I told him that I wouldn’t keep searching for cash, and would only pay by card “right now or never”. When he realized that I was indeed leaving him for good, he produced an app on his phone that accepted card payments… I paid in an extreme rush, and, honestly, have no clue where my money went.nnCan you imagine experiencing such a thing when having a plane to catch?!
Shout out to driver 568 who picked us up at Liverpool airport at 3am after being left stranded.nAbsolute top guy, was 5 minutes from finishing his shift to go home to his wife and kids after a long day, drove us an hour to Blackburn Absolute creditnDidn't catch his name but cracking guynCheers
Pre-booked a pick up well in advance, driver was late. Pre-booked another pick up for 11.00pm, received confirmation, was still waiting for a driver to be allocated at 11.15pm. Then one was allocated, due in 10 minutes, got to 3 minutes to go and you cancelled on me. Thank the gods for Uber as your company is an absolute disgrace.
Since Alpha have taken over ormskirk taxis its been diabolical. Hardly any drivers. Have prebooked twice now to get early trains to london and the job is never assigned to a driver despite prebooking way in advance. Can't speak to a human. Avoid
Absolute shambles of a company I booked a taxi for 5:05am on Thursday 29th May from Burscough to Wigan North Western the taxi then turned up 20 mins late and I missed my pre-booked train at a significant cost to myself/my company - my complaint response was disgraceful telling me they can’t guarantee times - why didn’t they advise of this at booking time so that I could have chosen another provider albeit Alpha have bought all local taxi companies hence not being able to provide consistent service like they could in West Lancashire. Neither the operators nor the drivers know the area well enough the driver even took me to the wrong station and insisted on me paying when I told him I was going to miss my train so should have given option to pay on the app.nnThe complaint response from the company was totally unsatisfactory and I would suggest to as many people as possible to look at alternatives such as Uber or Skem Express or someone who can guarantee a pick up time especially when booked a day in advance.nnIf I could I would provide a zero rating.
