I would not recommend alpha. I attempted to book a taxi on the app. The driver cancelled but two different transactions of £25.00 have been earmarked from my account. I called and the operator advised I would receive the money back in 5 days. How they think its acceptable to take money out your account before even delivering a service is ridiculous won't ever be using again.
After trying to contact several taxis we stumbled across Alpha Taxis, I’m so glad we did. We used them all weekend, wonderful service, always prompt. Next time we visit will definitely be using them.
I have no issue with the drivers who were extremely polite. My issue is with the pricing. When I booked a taxi through the app it quoted me between £24 and £27. It actually cost me £38. It was exactly the same for the return journey. Before using this company be sure you know what you'll be paying
Very poor service, I would avoid this company. After phoning in advance and booking a taxi from Liverpool airport to Manchester, I made the booking and agreed the fee in advance. They said the driver wouldn’t take card which is bad anyway but I agreed that I’d get cash and pay the amount quoted in the car. When I got in the car the driver said the fare was a lot £20 more than I had been quoted and when I insisted he ring the company, they told him to leave me at the airport - with two small children! I had seen reviews on here about drivers asking for more than the quoted fare from the company which is why I confirmed the fare on the phone. This is clearly a constant issue for this company and they will not honour the fare they quote on the phone. I’d try anyone else from the airport.
Brilliant service from our taxi last night who was ‘Ozzy’ driver number 512! The conversation was great and the company! %1000 recommend and this guy deserves a raise!
Update :We got this taxi on a Saturday night. Liverpool city center to Birkenhead so roughly 5 miles maybe less. £30 seems pretty expensive . Otherwise ok usually around £18 with other firms and also he did not put his meter on.- customer service contacted me quickly pretty good on that side. Taxi driver obviously is not going to admit to wrong doing and due to lack of CCTV evidence I can't prove what I say is true. Be careful with this firm .
Booked a 4.30am pick up for the airport. Used their fully automated booking system. Very easy and worked very well. Driver on time, polite with clean car.Service: Limousines
Absolutely USELESS service!! PRE-BOOKED the taxi 12 hours before and on the morning didn’t turn up on time!! Rang and asked where is my taxi and said we’re trying to get you one!!! What’s the use of PRE BOOKING one if it’s NOT pre booked!!! LATE FOR WORK!!! Booked one to get picked up from work and NEVER TURNED UP!!!!’
If you favour efficient and reliable service from your choice of private transportation, then look much further. Alpha Taxis provide a unique service unlike any other, such as arriving at the wrong location despite pre-booking a week in advance, galavanting towards a different fare without notice or replacement, and assigning fault to the customer.
Was waiting outside Hilton hotel in Manchester for 30 min due to taxis not arriving had to book 3 taxis cancelled in the end because i missed my appointment. The taxis had picked up other people but yet i was getting the blame for not arriving absolute pisstake ruined my whole plans
