I agree with previous posts as in now under new management it's great to go back to the Trumpet Major. Myself and my 6 year nieces daughter went for lunch and ordered off the lunch menu. The menu for children is great and suits all ages. I ordered off the lunch menu and the portion size is just right. We were greeted by the friendly staff and we chose a table to sit at. The food came promptly. We are looking forward to going to the carvery soon.
First time for a while because of previous poor experience but what a fantastic turn around. We were greeted by a young man who kindly offered us a choice of tables. We made our food and drink selections at the bar and opened a "tab". Our drinks were poured and we returned to our table. Fairly promptly our starter's arrived, which were delicious. After our plates were collected, we only had to wait a short while until our Mains were brought to the table by our charming server. Lovely food and nicely presented. Shortly after our plates were cleared our Sweets arrived. Again, really tasty. We were having such a great experience that we decided to have some more drinks and a coffee. Great value, excellent quality food and super service. Well done to all the Team. We will be back. Thank you.
Nice greeting on arrival, helped with gluten free menu, great waitress. Ordered a southern fried chicken burger asked for no tomato and wanted cheese instead. When arrived cheese yes great but tomato was as well. Ordered 8 different meals all arrived on time and enjoyed. Will be back.
I booked the trumpet major for 82 to enjoy a Christmas dinner. Ross and the team went above and beyond to ensure the day was a success, nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic service. They were able to cater for all allergies and dietary requirements that we threw at them and every single person commented on how lovely to food was, which, when you are feeding 82 people is a absolute triumph! One guest referred to your chef as a ‘treasure’. Great experience all round and thank you!
Decor was very nice, food was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Rated 1 star down due to the fact that after the main we were left waiting quite a while. Was even going to order a dessert but the moment had gone. Ended up paying at the bar and walking out. Our waitress was lovely but it seemed like there were others walking around not wanting to help her out and/or give her support.
First time visit and will definitely be back. Haven't eaten a carvery in around 10 years, but will certainly be back for another one from the trumpet major. Meat and trimmings cooked perfectly, and Floyd the Chef even let me sneak some extra potato's and gravy when I wanted some seconds. If you are looking for a lovely Sunday carvery on a Saturday afternoon in a lovely pub, can't get much better than this.
We recently had a big family Sunday Lunch - 18 of us, from toddlers to pensioners. We were very well looked after by the lovely, friendly staff. The children chose from the delightful Kids Menu when they'd finished the puzzles and colouring-in on the reverse and the rest of us decided to have a carvery, which was delicious, with a great selection of meats and vegetables. And the dessert menu was a big hit too!! Will definitely be going back!
What a turn around !! We came a few months ago, staff were rude and the whole place had a bland feeling. Decided to try again for a Sunday carvery, We were greeted by Ross who was full of energy and accommodating, tables clean and ready for us, Aiden and Rachel who served us were very polite and helpful. The whole atmosphere was fantastic and full of life.. definitely a new Sunday regular!!!
Words can't express how happy we were to have our daughters christening party hosted by the trumpet major, the team were amazing and the food buffet was absolutely delicious, a great choice! Nothing was to Much trouble for the team. Highly recommended!
Went for a lovely meal on new year's eve. Had one of their specials and was absolutely lovely. Family loved their meals and desserts. Was served by the lovely keiran and Ross always checking how things were. Would recommend to dine out.
